And The Beat(ing) Goes On Part 25: Obama's Budget Plan, A New Look At It

l

Given the upcoming speechifying once again by the "Chief Occupier" of the WH I felt this would be an appropriate time to put this great piece of work by Ray Steven on my blog.

Ray Stevens can find humor in about anything and over the years he has done so. However, in regard to this song he finds little humor in Obama's plans and said so in a recent interview.  Read along as you listen to this great comical song about Obama's Budget Plan

Here is what he had to say:

I usually write songs and this is my first attempt at writing an op-ed piece. It always amazes me how most political commentators beat around the bush. Well, that’s not how you write a song so let’s just cut to the chase and get to the chorus:

My song, "Obama Budget Plan" can be seen on YouTube. It indicates that President Obama’s budget plan appears to be to spend as much of our money as he wants, on anything he wants and to pay for it by just printing more money.

The fact is, President Obama doesn’t really seem to have a plan at all. His administration has been working without a budget for almost three years now. He views having to consult Congress as an inconvenience and tries to go around them at every turn.
His latest plan is to blame the Tea Party movement for this country's first-ever credit downgrade because they forced him to face the debt drisis that he created by his out of control spending.

Then he and his aides want to blame S&P for bad judgment in addition to continuing to blame George Bush. President Obama is the “Blamer-in-Chief.”

I try to find the humor in everything but there is nothing funny about what the president, his policies and his associates are doing to this country with the help of a political party that obviously cares more about elections than the great nation they have sworn to protect and defend.

I’m tired of it. I’ve heard it all before and don’t want to hear it anymore.

I’m tired of hearing how we have lost a war and how our troops terrorize and kill innocent people in the dead of night.

I’m tired of hearing good, honest, caring people like the Tea Party folks being referred to as ‘terrorists” by people who won’t even call a real terrorist a terrorist.

Nothing is going to change in America until those people are defeated at the ballot box and politicians, regardless of their Party, decide to put America first and return her to her roots of free enterprise, fiscal responsibility and fairness.

Ray Stevens is a two time Grammy award winner, multi-platinum, multi-gold recording artist who has sold over 25 million albums.

It would appear that Mr. Stevens has hit the nail on the head .  What's your take on the subject.

Ground Zero Mosque Developers Apply for Federal Grant-aka We Spit in Your Face US

The so-called Ground Zero mosque recently applied for a $5 million federal grant from a fund designed to rebuild lower Manhattan after 9/11. Developers of the controversial Park51 Islamic community center and mosque located two blocks from Ground Zero earlier this month applied for roughly $5 million in federal grant money set aside for the redevelopment of lower Manhattan after the attacks of September 11th, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the matter. The audacious move stands to reignite the embers of a divisive debate that dominated headlines surrounding the ninth anniversary of the attacks this fall, say people vested in the issue. The application was submitted under a "community and cultural enhancement" grant program administered by the Lower Manhattan Redevelopment Corporation (LMDC), which oversaw the $20 billion in federal aid allocated in the wake of 9/11 and is currently doling out millions in remaining taxpayer funds for community development. The redevelopment board declined to comment on the application (as did officials from Park51), citing the still ongoing and confidential process of determining the grant winners. While news of the application has not previously been made public, developer Sharif El-Gamal outlined it in closed-door meetings, according to two individuals he spoke with directly. The thirtysomething, Brooklyn-born El-Gamal is motivated more by real estate ambition--one of these sources describes him as aspiring to be the next Donald Trump--than Islamic theology or ideology

The NY Post puts it this way:

The developers behind the proposed Ground Zero mosque have applied for about $5 million in federal grant money set aside for redeveloping downtown Manhattan after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, according to a new report.
The application was submitted as a "community and cultural enhancement" grant, which is a program run by the Lower Manhattan Redevelopment Corp.
Developer Sharif El-Gamal discussed the grant proposal in recent closed-door meetings, according to The Daily Beast.
The revelation that the developers have asked for this grant could reignite outrage about the mosque's proposed location.
An artist rendering shows an exterior view of the proposed Park51 community center and mosque.

"If Imam Feisal and his retinue want know why they're not trusted, here's yet another reason,” Irshad Manji, author of "The Trouble with Islam" and director of the Moral Courage Project at NYU, told The Daily Beast. “The New Yorkers I speak with have questions about Park51. Requesting money from public coffers without engaging the public shows a staggering lack of empathy—especially from a man who says he's all about dialogue."
The site of the proposed mosque and cultural center, two blocks from the Trade Center, already has seen frequent protests. National figures including Sarah Palin have spoken out against it.
Some have called the project an exercise in triumphalism, intended to plant Islam's flag at the scene of the attacks and deliberately provoke Americans. Others say they are against the center because they don't want to see any growth of Islam in the U.S.
Rauf told "60 Minutes" in September that to reduce fears that terror organizations would contribute to the project, he'll ask US officials to approve the sources of funding.

Now the question is, would a grant be given to the First Bapti-Episco-Metho-Presby-Congregacostal Church of God or would it even be considered. What would be the outcry from the media and the Left?

So far not a peep other than a few minor newsrag reports.

What say you?  Do they get the grant and what about separation of church and state using taxpayer money to pay for a mosque?

Sunday Music Time

No music in this post today but I thought it suiting for today's thoughts.  I do not know who wrote this so I can give no credit so I will give a HatTip to the one who sent it to me, Mrs. Ticker.

THE LORD'S BASEBALL  GAME

Freddy and the Lord stood by to  observe a baseball game. The Lord's team was playing Satan 's  team.

The Lord's team was at bat, the score  was tied zero to zero, and it was the bottom of the 9th inning  with two outs.

They  continued to watch as a batter stepped up to the plate  named 'Love.'

Love
swung at the first pitch  and hit a single, because 'Love never  fails.'

The next batter was named Faith, who  also got a single because Faith works with Love.

The next batter up was  named Godly Wisdom. Satan  wound up and threw the first pitch.

Godly  Wisdom
looked it over and let it pass: Ball one. Three more pitches and  Godly  Wisdom walked because he never swings at what Satan  throws.

The bases were now loaded. The Lord  then turned to Freddy and told him He was now  going to bring in His star
player.

Up  to  the plate  stepped Grace .. Freddy said,  'He sure doesn't look like much!'

Satan 's whole team  relaxed when they saw Grace  .

Thinking he  had won the game, Satan wound up and fired his first pitch.

To the shock  of everyone, Grace hit the ball harder than anyone had ever seen!

But Satan was  not worried; his center fielder let very few get by.

He went up for the ball, but it went  right through his glove, hit him on the head and sent him crashing  on the ground;

the roaring  crowds went wild as the ball continued over the fence . . for a  home run!

The Lord's team  won!

The Lord then asked Freddy if he knew  why Love,  Faith  and Godly  Wisdom
could get on base but  couldn't win the game. Freddy answered that he didn't know  why.

The Lord explained, 'If your love, faith and wisdom had won the  game, you would think you had done it by yourself. Love, Faith and  Wisdom will get you on  base but only My Grace  can get you Home:

'For by
Grace are you saved,  it is a gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast.'  Ephesians 2:8-9

Psalm 84:11, 'For the Lord  God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no  good thing will He withhold from those who walk  uprightly.'

The Beat(ing) Goes On Part 24. Obama's key to Re-election; Blackmail-- Never let a good crisis go to waste!

Hurricane Irene is hitting the East Coast with a fury but not quite the fury that the Leftist secretly prayer it would. You see the much hyped Category 3 has turned into a whimpering Cat 1. Not to demean a Cat 1, (I have lived through Cat 1's and Cat 4's), they do plenty of damage. However this one is being over hyped in my own opinion. The continual hype of water damage and flooding by the media is a bit much but they must make as much as they can out of this somewhat fizzled storm since the winds didn't do the damage they expected.

i can remember storms of much more intensity and probably more damaging but these are seldom mentioned since this one is being touted as "storm of the century". Hardly!

Does anyone remember Hugo in 1989? Hugo was a Cat 4 storm that hit Charleston , SC and ripped it's way inland and up the coast causing horrendous damage even in Charlotte NC, which is not exactly on the coast. It ripped 200 year old oak trees out of the ground like they were nothing on the grounds of Baptist Childrens Home in Thomasville, NC and then continued its roar into SW Virginia causing millions of dollars in damage.

Then there was Floyd, people still speak in whispers of this Cat 3 storm that displaces over 3 million people from South Flordia to Cape Hatteras ,NC ,and brought 30 inches of rainfall along the coast as far  north as New Jersey.  I believe  Irene is forecaste to bring less rain than Floyd but nevertheless it is "the storm". with no mention of Floyd only some storm back in the 40's .

Did they forget Isabel?  Isabel was a Cat 5 and lasted over 30 hours.  She did lose strength before making landfall on the Outer Banks of NC as a Cat 2, but the loss of life was high with 16 reported deaths.

Regardless of the other more powerful storms this one is getting played to the hilt by the media especially since it comes on the heels of a 5.8 magnitude earthquake which rattled much of the same area.  For the media this is too good to be true, two "crisis" in the same week. The news is made so no need to look for other stories, regardless of the level of importance such as Mexican Government Commando's using the US as a staging point for attacks on drug cartels in that constant war. Guess it doesn't matter that by alowing Mexico to do this puts the US in a very precarious position under International law, not to mention the Constitution, but then nary a peep from the LSM media. The current "crisis" is all the news that is needed.

Could there be another "hidden" reason behind all the hype given these two "crises"?
Given the current state of  things in this country, the economy , the recess of Congress, the presidential vacation in Martha's Vineyard,  they need something to cover for the inaction of the President to offer a plan on anything. Of course they continue to tout the supposed date of September when Congress returns from recess as the date he will submit his plan for jobs etc. It appears however, given the number of leaks about his so called plan which amounts to a repeat of his previous failed plan that something else is needed to give him a boost.  Are the pieces beginning to fall into place?

Remember the words: NEVER LET A GOOD CRISIS GO TO WASTE!.  Well folks we are going to see this statement put into action very soon. I am predicting  that it will occur during this coming week after the storm has passed and a quick(and I will add inflated) assessment is made of the damages caused by Irene.

Look for Obama to call for trillions of dollars to repair the "infrastructure" damaged by the storm. This of course is one of the ideas that is supposedly in his Jobs Plan to be unveiled in September. It had little chance of surviving in Congress even among members of his own Party.  Isn't it amazing what a little "crisis' can do?  It can create miracles.  He may even re-call Congress before September to deal with Irene, which I find a bit incredulous since he couldn't bring himself to re-call Congress to deal with the economy of the entire nation and yes even the global economy. Vacation time was too important perhaps, after all he was exhausted from his "listening" bus tour(read that campaign tour that wasn't a campaign tour depending on  how one defines campaign tour, dang sounds like Clinton on depends how you define....)

When ever Congress comes back to DC you can expect Obama to use these two "crises", the earthquake and Irene, to blackmail the Republican held House into passing another Stimulus bill, even larger than his last failed so called stimulus.  If anyone dares to voice opposition to his spending they will be cast as uncaring and worse than any terrorist. How dare they fail to pass a spending bill to aide the unfortunate folks on the East Coast of the US after two major catastrophes will be the hew and cry. It matters not that only a small portion of this spendulus billl will be actually used to help the real folks along the East Coast  but it plays well with the media as well as the Left and gives them ammunition to use in the 012 elections against the Republicans.  It will be Blackmail at it's most viral form.

Many of the political analyst on the Right and Left  have written and said that it would take something in the form of a miracle to boost Obama if he were to have any hope of being re-elected in 012. The use of these "crises" could very well be that miracle.

Look for the Beat(ing) to continue folks.

Sunday Music Time

l

Too often we get too caught up in the whirl of things and wind up doing them all wrong.
Perhaps we just need to do as the title to this Cristy Lane gospel hit says and take it "One Day At A Time".

Enjoy the words and the message of the song and then put it to practice. You will be surprised at the difference it makes.

Saturday Song time

l

For Saturday Song time I have taken the liberty of adding my own lyrics to this Joe Jones hit from the past. I think it appropriate that I dedicate it to Obama since that is all he seems to know how to do.

You talk too much
You worry me to death
You talk too much
You even worry my pet

You just talk
Talk too much

You talk about people jobs
That you don't know
You talk about people jobs
Wherever you go

You just talk
Talk too much

You talk about people jobs
That you've We've never seen
You talk about people jobs
You can make me scream

You just talk
you talk too much

You talk too much
You worry me to death
You talk too much
You even worry my pet

You just talk
Talk too much

You talk about people the economy
That you don't know
You talk about people the economy
Wherever you go

You just talk
Talk too much

You talk about people the economy
That you've never seen and you ain't got a clue
You talk about people the economy
You can make me scream

You just talk
Talk too much

NOW JUST SHUT UP!

And the Beat (ing) Goes On, Part 23. What's the Plan Obama?

Obama just finished his not so successful tour of the Midwest in a new million dollar plus bus that probably gets about the same or less fuel mileage as Air Force One but of course you and I are condemned for driving a SUV instead of a Volt. Then again , he's not paying for the fuel on either but if we complain about high fuel prices for our SUV we are told by the POTUS to "Get over it and get a smaller car".  Oh well,  that's fine because  he's the POTUS and was on a "fact finding" mission to help him create jobs for all Americans,, not a political campaign tour. Now if you believe that I have a nice big ski mountain just outside Dallas, Texas that I will sell you cheap.  Of course we won't know what he discovered and what his great plans are until he returns from his Martha's Vineyard vacation.

Did anyone notice on the news that he got a briefing on International Security this morning?  Guess he had to make it appear that he was actually "working" while on vacation.  What is so important in the international situation that it takes precedence over the state of the US economy and joblessness?  We'll never know but my guess is he is at a loss on how to create jobs and jump start the economy other than falling back on his TRIED and FAILED plans of spend more and tax the rich. Hasn't he realized that doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is insanity or actually it appears to be stupidity.

During his "information seeking tour", he claims that 2 million jobs have been created in the past two months--Say what?  Where are they Obama?

I believe he is trying to use the same smoke and mirror game that he attempted to pull back in 2009 when he claimed to have created two million jobs with his STUMBULUS Bill.  Fact is two million jobs were lost after he signed his so called Stimulus that was to create "shovel ready" jobs. The only shovel ready anything was the need for a shovel to shovel the BS out of the way that he was putting out in order to get to the truth. His STUMBULUS Bill FAILED and yet it is said that he is ready to submit another 1.7 billion STUMBULS Bill in order to create more jobs.

Of course he will need a new bureaucratic office to oversee the spending  and creation of these pipe dream jobs.  That would be the new Dept of Jobs of some such nonsense. Doesn't this President know that we have a Dept of Labor?  Well maybe, but if he creates a new Department of Job Creation you can be sure that it will take at least a couple of thousand people to man the desks and phones which never get answered as is true with most government offices. At least he can claim he created jobs and of course those few hundred or maybe a thousand will turn into a million or more.  Call it what it is folks, pure stupidity!

If Americans were skeptical about the stimulus before, they're downright cynical now. Only 26% of Americans agree with how Obama is handling the economy. "It [won't be] easy, the Washington Post says,"because i't nonsensical. Voters inherently understand the promises of cuts down the road coupled with immediate spending sprees are precisely how we got to this point." Like the two stimulus bills before it, this proposal would push for more construction projects and state bailouts as well as changes to the federal payroll tax, mortgage relief, and of course, yes, new taxes. As Wimpy on the Popeye Cartoons use to say, A hamburger today and I will gladly re-pay you tomorrow, seems to be Obama's slogan today, a stimulus now in exchange for deficit reduction later. Just as folks weren't fooled by Wimpy's plea for a burger lets hope that Congress won't fall for Obama's Wimpy plea.

During his not so successful tour he also pointed out that he will continue the "Payroll Tax cuts" as if they actually really helped anyone. My question would have been, just what good will the tax cuts do for those who are not on a payroll? What good did it do for those who actually had a job. Stats show that the average worker got to keep about $12 more per week. Of course he never mentions that this was taken up by the increase in fuel cost for the average worker to go back and forth to their job. Nor did he ever mention that more was taken up in the increase price of groceries--and he wants up to believe there is no inflation.

Stop blowing smoke up the people butts and admit that your failed policies that you want to foist upon the people again are nothing more than more failure and that you really don't have a plan to help the economy or create jobs.

You had two years  Obama, with a Democrat House and a fillibuster proof Senate and you couldn't create one single job plan that worked nor could you formulate a plan and get it passed to jump start the economy. The Dems owned the House and Senate for two years before you became President and they didn' t do anything except blame Bush for all the ills of the world. You can't blame this mess on Bush anymore but we can blame it on the fact that you have never had a plan and that you still have no plan.

Present a plan, on paper Mr. President, for the American People to see or admit you are clueless. Do the American people a favor and resign. Oh, and take clueless Joe with you as you go or leave him in China.

We The People are waiting!

And the Beat(ing) Goes on Part 22: More Failure from Obama and This Congress

Obama and the Congress recently threw together a so called "debt deal" to hopefully stop the lowing of the credit rating of the US.  IT FAILED since S&P lowered the rating from AAA to AA+ much to the chagrin of the White House who immediately claimed that the S&P's numbers were flawed. But then when has this administration ever taken the blame for anything.  This administration immediately called for MORE SPENDING and MORE TAXES, just exactly what the S&P said got the US to the situation it is in today.  Unfortunately those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.  The Cap Cut and Balance Bill that was before the Senate and which Harry Reid said was DOA would have curtailed the reduction in the credit rating but of course the Dems blame the Right for the problem and say that it is all because of the tax cuts under Bush, you know , the same ones that Obama has continued, not once but twice in his two years in office.
The situation worsened after the phony Debt Limit Bill was passed because everyone in the world other than the Leftist of this administration saw it for what it was (is). It does nothing to reduce debt or deficit as the S&P committee has pointed out.

US unemployment is now 9.1 per cent, down from 9.2 in June. One might point out that part of the decrease could be due to the "Back to School" hiring that occurs seasonally. Previous years employment number will give credence to that speculation.  With numbers of long-term unemployed multiplying,(even a few on the Left are saying that the real number of unemployed is actually 18% and I call that number conservative) those on the left and a few writers of The New York Times(as well as a few Dem Congressmen) say that public works projects and direct employment programs are the fastest way of getting the long-term unemployed back into jobs. Many are calling for a new  STUMBULUS Deal to mirror the FAILED first STUMBULUS Deal

But is this really the answer? Or might tax relief in fact do better? Obama himself gave a half-hearted support for a "tax relief" plan for those who hire returning Veterans. Of course this was more campaign rhetoric than much of anything else if one gave note to the audience in attendance to this speech. I noted a lot of Veteran Organization Hats, a few military uniforms and some young people who may or may not have been veterans. On the other hand, there are many who argue that uncertainty for business around taxation and regulation with the Obama administration has forced investment to wait and see and this seems to be the widely accepted opinion of those on Wall Street, small business folks and investors world wide. In these times of failed government stimulus and crys for MORE,  there's still uncertainty that things have not bottomed, leaving investors waiting.

She argued that presidents Herbert Hoover and Franklin D. Roosevelt should have allowed the market to recover rather than spend billions on government schemes.  I and others have also argued that both Bush with his original TARP and Obama with his continuation of the same  and the STUMBULUS fiasco should have done the same. In the following paragraphs one could very well exchange OBAMA for FDR and the message would be the same so keep that in mind as you read.

FDR's New Deal was the prime offender. Throughout the 1930s, the US stayed deep in economic depression. By 1937 it had developed a depression within a depression.

The New Deal is foreign territory to most Australians. Its experimentation, largesse of government spending, indifference to global partners or agreements and the, at times, autocratic stance by the president in decisions about finance is unimaginable in any successful Australian leader.

For Roosevelt, there seemed few limits. Such was the power and financial might of the US, allies such as France and Britain bent before him
.
But prices continued to stagnate. Shlaes writes that what FDR was doing was like "pouring glasses of water into the ocean in the hope of raising the sea level". Buyers also determine prices. Even as the US government was offering low interest loans to farmers at the rate of $US1m a day, it was also paying farmers not to farm.(One could compare this to Obama's failed plan for housing rather than farmers) As gold hit a new high, Roosevelt put the US back on the gold standard.(So  far Obama has not considered this even though gold is at an all time high. The Leftist believe for the most part that gold is evil since it limits their spending habits to what is on hand and can not be printed as can paper money.)
The depression remained, with unemployment at 23 per cent.

Roosevelt began massive projects under the Tennessee Valley Authority, constructing dams for hydro-electricity. Power to the people, literally, in a nation where private companies owned the utilities. Farmers and locals were resettled at great cost and much protest, and private utilities companies pursued until they could be bought up by the federal government. (Of course Obama's "Shovel Ready Jobs" , which was to be the great answer to FDR's plan was a failure so rather than a TVA we now have a government controlled Auto industry, seized by Obama and subsidized by the taxpayer, We might also add the Banking industry to that seizure as well)

The New Deal in the US during the 30s was America's flirtation with a command economy. It failed, and was saved only by the industrial expansion of war in the early 40s.(So far Obama's failed STUMBULUS plan has had no such savior)
What became known as Keynesian economics is seen as the theory behind the New Deal. However, as the US unemployment figures remained stuck in the teens by 1937, Keynes wrote to Roosevelt saying he should abandon his war against private utilities companies: "It is a mistake to think businessmen are more immoral than politicians." (Obama and the LEFT could also take a lesson from Mr. Keynes since they believe that business leaders, business and anything not controld by the government is evil)

The New Deal forced income taxes on high earners to 79 per cent, introduced death duties and lowered tax-rate thresholds. It even delivered an undistributed profit tax as capital retreated in the face of unfair competition from government monopolies and over-regulated markets. ( Does this not sound just exactly what the Left and Obama wish to do and are doing via regulations not passed by Congress but by proxy via such agencies as the EPA?)

By 1937, taxing the "middleman" had become an FDR sport while new laws to tighten rules around monetary policy forced banks to keep more cash and cut back on loans. Business became expensive. Wages were forced up - in the first six months of 1936 by 11 per cent. August 1937 witnessed the greatest drop in industrial production ever recorded. (How similar to what is happening under the OBAMA NO PLAN other than tax the rich and regulate everything. Wages are now higher than they have been in history contratry to what the LEFT wouold have you believe. The AVERAGE HOURLY wage now stands at over $23.00 an hour and industrial output  is at it's slowest in years.  I heard recently Obama blame the decline and failure of industry to grow on the earthquakes in Japan but of course he never has admitted that 9-11 had any effect on the economy under Bush. It still remains all Bush's fault.

I
n the meantime Obama continues to have no plan, the Left in Congress has no plan other than blame the "tea party" and call for more spending and more taxes.  Perhaps each of those in Congress ,the White House and the Leftist who continue to drink the koolaide shold read this article as well as the conclusion which follows.)

In stark contrast, Australia and Britain took a very different path. The British government continued debt reduction. Keynes's biographer Robert Skidelsky, in Interests and Obsessions, writes: "What is striking in retrospect is the shallowness of the British depression and the need for recovery from it in the absence of any deliberate fiscal stimulus. British unemployment, 2.9 million at its peak in 1932, was half Germany's and a sixth of America's at the same date."

In Australia, more damaged by heavy debt by the mid-20s, the story was also far better than in the US. By the time the Scullin government fell in 1931, opposition leader Joe Lyons had mounted a rallying cry that only he and the United Australia Party could be trusted to deliver "sound money". In government from 1932, Lyons fought the depression with modest relief works and government economies to bring budgets back into the black.
From 1934, figures showed that Australia had turned the depression around.

Unemployment had gone from 29 per cent in 1931 to 16 per cent by 1935.
Australians' belief in labour market flexibility and sound money should never be ignored and their distrust of utopias and social engineering has a lot going for it.

May I be so bold as to call your attention to the last sentence and even repeat it for those who perhaps fail to read well or do not tend to "go back" to read anything of importance. I will take license and change a few words in the closing sentence:
'AMERICANS belief in labor market flexibility and sound money should never be ignored and their distrust of utopias and social engineering has a lot going for it.

And the Beat(ing) Goes on Part 21: We the People are still losing.

Just what did "Bonehead" Boehner get out of the so call deal for the American People?

The answer is dang little to nothing but it (hopefully for him ) made him look good and he can cry and sling snot and say, "I did all that I could do".  But then Bonehead has always been good at crying and slinging snot so folks will feel sorry for him and think "poor guy".  I've been writing about Bonehead since he was up for Speak of the House and I said he would be a failure. My words have rang true. May they ring in the ears of  voters in November of 2012.

What did Boehner get in return for this?
He did not insist that the April CR include language prohibiting funding for implementing of Obamacare, or defunding Planned Parenthood (the nation's largest abortion provider) Yep I wrote about this back on March 15. 2011   Here is a brief excert. (You can read the entire story using the date link above.)

Congress has three weeks to put together a plan to fund the government for the next six months and so far all they have done is the usual name calling , posturing and finger pointing.  Obama scolded Congress and said" We can't keep on running the government based on two week extensions."  Speaker Bonehead (HAR-Ohio) pointed out that "we're trying to clean up last year's mess".  Of course he is  somewhat correct on that point since the Democrats didn't bother to even submit a budget for fear that the blood shed of November would be worse than expected. The Republicans were wrong for not forcing the issue and jumping up and down on the issue but then some were too busy "running for position". Bonehead's name comes to mind since that all he could do during much of last term.
So it seems that some important issues are now on the back burner and We The People are in for another BEATING. Defunding of Planned Parenhood and Obamanocare are all set aside despite promises from GOP leadership to scuttle both immediately but seems it will wait until a more convenient time. Of course the primary antagonist of the "good ole boys" in the GOP, Rep Michele Bachmann (R-MN) doesn't like it one bit and has taken on the "ole boy's" establishment and firing both barrels saying "You don't win if you don't fight". and how right she is.  It appears that the "establishment GOP is taking on Obama's tactic of retreat and bowing as well as stuttering while taking NO ACTION , and the Beat(ing) goes on.
Bachmann and Steven King (R-Iowa) called for the GOP to stand by their pledge. "If we do not stand our ground on the CR (continuing resolutions)... and use it to stop the $105.5 billion... Obamacare will be implemented on our watch, and ...we will find it difficult--if not impossible--to regain the strategic advantage."

or the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (which subsidizes liberal media). Nor did he extract any commitment from the president to reform entitlement programs -- including Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security -- that are the primary forces driving the nation toward bankruptcy.
In the recent debt-limit negotiations, Boehner could have said to Obama: We will increase the debt limit just enough to cover the fiscal 2011 spending we agreed to in April's CR. But for fiscal 2012 we will not agree to business as usual on government spending and debt. The Republican-controlled House will pass a series of appropriations for fiscal 2012 that significantly reform government spending and reduce government. We will be happy to debate them with you in September.
Instead, Boehner agreed to increase the debt limit by $2.4 trillion -- the largest debt limit increase in history.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who supported Boehner's deal, predicts the $2.4 trillion increase will last 18 months -- enough to get past next November's elections. Now do this math: $2.4 trillion over 18 months equals $133.33 billion in new debt per month or $1.596 trillion in a year.
A speaker who cuts a debt-limit deal like that is not planning to fight over the 2012 appropriations bills. He is planning to cut another deal.

And folks , in the mean time, The Beat(ing) goes on. The Left talking heads are blaming the problems that increased spending will create on the Right already and claiming that the  Right held nation and Obama hostage inorder to get all the things they wanted. Well, it would appear that the Right got little to nothing , thanks to "Bonehead" . And as for "hostage holding", it would seem that Harry Reid was the chief hostage holder by refusing to allow the vote on any bill sent over by the Right or by declaring it DOA, while twisting the arms of those Dems who would vote for a rational bill.

Not much left to say, except we are in deep doo with a bunch of immature, name calling idiots running this country.

And the Beat(ing) Goes On Part 20 (American People screwed again and didn't even get kissed.

Just listened to the "taxem in chief" talk about the NODEBTLIMIT BILL just passed by the Senate.  The idiot is bound and determined to finish destroying the economy before he leaves office , and he is leaving office in 2012 as he well knows.  He continually speaks of RAISING TAXES  on the so called rich and corporations, you know the folks who already pay the bulk of the taxes in this country.

Here is an excerpt of the CBO’s charts that show the percentage share of various categories of taxes paid by the top 10%, 5% and 1% of income earners:
Share of Taxes (%)
Top 10%

Taxes on US Corporations was 27.7 percent, compared with a non-U.S. average of 19.5 percent. Companies based in Japan, Morocco, Italy, Indonesia and Germany,  faced higher tax rates.(And we see how well their economies run as well as their super high taxes on individuals)

Never the less the cry from Obama and the Leftist through out this entire week of BS called debate has been , "We must have a balanced approach with the rich and big corporations paying their share".  Of course statistics show that when taxes on individuals and corporations are raised, revenues for the Government fall. However Leftist try to twist this to show the opposite through their smoke and mirror, convoluted accounting system.
Individuals( the so called rich) stop investing and corporations move out of the country.  It would seem that the Leftist would learn from the past under Clinton what higher taxes do for the economy and business.  Some people never learn.

Obama calls for tax reform but yet refuses to even consider the Flat Tax. Actually it shoudl suit his socialist leanings since everyone pays the same rate of taxes, rich and poor alike.  Unfortunately the Left hates the idea since they Plantation would soon disappear because there would be no group paying ZERO INCOME TAXES as there are under the current system. The federal income tax is the government's largest source of revenue but yet nearly 50% of the people paid nothing so that leaves the other 50% paying for all the services that the non-payers enjoy. Yes they still pay some taxes but not income tax which is what the Flat Tax is all about. It's not uncommon for people to think that their Social Security taxes, their 401(k) contributions, their share of employer health premiums, all of that stuff in their mind gets lumped into income taxes, The Left uses this argument in their attempt to refute the idea that 50% pay no income tax.  They twist the words and claim the Right says 50% pay no taxes, which of course is not what is being said. The Left takes it totally out of context but then what else is new. The Flat Tax would work but don't hold your breath for it to come about. It would also reduce the number of useless IRS employees by over 70%, which of course the savings from that waste of money could be used toward debt reduction. Remember how adding just a bit on the end of your house payment can reduce the amount of time it takes to pay it off and the amount of interest paid?  Ah, but don't tell the Leftist that!

Just heard the "taxer in chief"  cozening up to the AFL-CIO, union thugista's saying,
"Taxes need to be raised on the rich"  He ticked off that wing of his socialist party and is now trying to smooth things over. He will play "hell" in getting taxes passed during his administration. Of course he will do things that will make taxes on items higher and of course hurt the lower class and middle class but then try to blame it on the Right for not wanting to raise taxes on the RICH.  (I get so tired of that phrase I could puke.)

Beware of his "super committee" for they will be the machinery that Obama uses to try to raise taxes on the ones who already pay the majority of taxes. Clinton found out it didn't work in his last term so why does Obama think the results will be any different for him?
The Clinton years provide lessons on the effects of tax increases and decreases. The American left attributes the successful economy of the Clinton years to the former and ignores the impact of the latter in order to justify their appetite for the increases they would have us believe will provide additional tax revenues today.

The effects of increasing taxes on Treasury receipts can be seen in the Clinton and Democrat-controlled congressional tax increase of 1993, one of the largest in history. Despite a more robust job market following a recession, the 1993 tax increase didn't accomplish what Democrats expected. The tax increases added very little to treasury receipts despite their magnitude. Reports from the Congressional Budget Office, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Internal Revenue Service all agree.

The balanced budgets of the Clinton years didn't occur until after a Republican Congress passed and the president reluctantly signed a  1997 tax bill that lowered the capital gains rate from 28% to 20%, added a child tax credit, and established higher limits on tax exclusion for IRAs and estates. Oh, but don't dare tell a Leftist that!

All of America's current deficits are the result of spending by both parties above the baseline, including spending on the costs of war, homeland security, and natural disasterDespite those circumstances, at the rates of economic growth through 2007 and with simple spending restraint, the Bush-era 2001 and 2003 tax rate reductions should have yielded a surplus by 2009 with no increase in taxes. Now on top of . The Stumbulus and OBAMANOCARE cost the Left want to increase taxes even more and SPEND MORE! and as we gave seen federal expenditures have been setting records and are increasing drastically.

A typical Congress has a spending problem, not a revenue problem. This Congress is no exception, except that its members are spending at exceptional rates and have no will to stop.

Millions of Americans fell off the tax rolls following the 2001 rate reductions on income. Today, the top 1% of earners pays more taxes than the bottom 95%. Who really believes that taxing this top group even more is going to pay everyone's tab for the ambitious and irresponsible spending objectives of the Democrats in Washington? Yea, Obama you claim to have given 95% of the folks a tax break but ooops looks like it actually occurred long before your time.

During all this hub-bub about debt limit and the world coming to an end was pure contrivance on Obama's part.  He hoped for more than he could get and it backfired on him but yet the failure continues to talk as if HE made it all happen.  Nothing like a narcissist jackass braying to make your day.  We also found out who the RINO's were (many were already known such as McCain and the ding-bat from Alaska ,  Lisa
Murkowski, who might as well just switch to the Socialist Democrat Party given her rants against the conservatives in the House.
The House needs new leadership for "Bonehead " proved himself to be inadequate in getting the job done. McConnell needs to be replaced in the Senate as well for his time is over. He would make a deal with the devil if it meant getting re-elected on the idea that "I did the best I could."  Listen for "Bonehead" to sling snot and try to use the same excuse his failure.

Well it's over for now but the LSM will beat it to death because it's an easy story with a never ending line of braying jackasses who want to defend their Messiah and call for more Taxes on the Rich.  It would GAG a maggot on a garbage truck!

I'm finished with this and won't be revisiting the "debt crisis" again until next time in 2013!

Let me know what you think.
