Well, July has come and gone and I am still trying to get my old computer to working. It's been a long hot summer with lots of things happening. A vacation, talking politics to folks who voted for Obama, the birth of a new granddaughter, Elizabeth Drew, and yep, moving to a new location believe it or not!
I will really and truly try to get into the swing of things very soon. Unpacking boxes and trying to find important things like some pots and pans to cook in along with a few forks and knives have taken priority seeing how as I like to eat on a regular basis.
I've talked to a lot of folks here in Henry County, Georgia (where we recently moved to) about what they think of Obama going on two years into his term. I didn't talk to just any folks but those folks who voted for what they thought was the only chance for Hope and Change in this country. It will come as no surprise that many of these folks are not pleased with the Hope and Change that they are seeing. I'll have more on this in the upcoming weeks.
We miss Texas but with most of the kids living here in Georgia we felt it time perhaps to located closer to them. It also is much closer to the new granddaughter in Greensboro, NC. Four and a half hour drive beats over sixteen hours of driving to see the new little bundle of joy. We still have one in Texas and we sure would like for her and the family to relocate here with the rest of the clan. It probably won't happen so at least we have an excuse to go back to Texas on a regular basis for visits.
Thanks for being patient and hopefully most of you have not just written the Ticker off as just another blog gone to the way side.
I'll be back with an inside look at what folks are saying about Obama from one of his strongholds, the Atlanta Metro area. Stay tuned!
