Wisdom!

A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said: ‘Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even one year old, and I’m pregnant again. I don’t want kids so close together.’

So the doctor said: ‘Ok a...nd what do you want me to do?’

She said: ‘I want you to end my pregnancy, and I’m counting on your help with this.’

The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: ‘I think I have a better solution for your problem. It’s less dangerous for you too.’ She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.

Then he continued: ‘You see, in order for you not to have to take care of 2 babies at the same time, let’s kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we’re going to kill one of them, it doesn’t matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.’

The lady was horrified and said: ‘No doctor! How terrible! It’s a crime to kill a child!’

‘I agree’, the doctor replied. ‘But you seemed to be OK with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution.’

The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point. He convinced the mom that There is no difference in killing a child that’s already been born and one that’s still in the womb. The crime is the same!

"In dreams"

Roy Orbison wrote this song in 1963. It is the story of one young mans "Dreams" and his awakeing.  Through Orbison's voice one can feel the emotion that the young man is expressing even if you were not able to understand the words.
My Friend GM has written a beautiful poem about another young mans dream and his awakening. Without the music one can feel the emotion build just as in "Dreams".

Listen to Roy's song and make comments if you wish and then go to
GM's Place and read a beautiful piece of work as well as seeing the pictures of the "dream".

Dedicated to The One I Love - The Shirelles (1959&1961)

From 1961**, Reachin' back in time and diggin' up memories of slooow movin' on the dance floor.  Now turn it on, turn it up, but baby, don't ever turn it off.

This is Dedicated to those old enough to remember and to those aren't but still have a love for all things good.

Dedicate it to who ever you wish and post some memories, it's golden oldie time here with Ticker at Jus'Sayin'.

**Song was originally released in 1959 but didn't make the charts until it was re-released in 1961.  If memory serves me correctly  I heard it originally on WLAC Nashville TN, The  John R show. He played much of the early R&B sound that became the Mo-town sound later on. The later at night the better the reception on the lil transistor radio I carried around with me and in my car since it didn't come equipped with a built in radio. Crusin down the boulevard listen to John R. Ahhhh, the memories.  He had more soul than any white man in his time.  Anyone else remember John R?

Another Look at the SOTU

Mark Alexander at the Patriot Post has his own summation of Obama’s State of the Union Message.

Here is the abbreviated version of the SOTU: "I want ... I believe ... I've seen ... I've heard ... I said ... I will be ... I'm asking ... I don't know ... I challenge ... I urge ... I set ... I know ... I'm proposing ... I ask ... I took ... I made ... I would ... I intend ... I've ordered ... I will not ... I've heard ... I am eager ... I'm not ... I'm not ... I'm not ... I am ... I've proposed ... I care ... I recognize ... I'm willing ... I've proposed ... I created ... I don't agree ... I am prepared ... I hear ... I will submit ... I ask ... I will veto ... I will travel ... I call on all ... I know ... I stand..."

Finally, Obama proclaimed, "It makes no sense."

This was the only thing Obama said that actually made sense.

And I totally agree! Any other opinions?

You can read the complete and I must say a very good summation of the SOTU here

Oh The Screams From the Left If.....

What if Conservatives viewed the Constitution as Liberals do?  Could be interesting. What do you think?

"Since there are many more conservatives than liberals, and conservatives have so many guns, people often wonder why conservatives don't just round up all the liberals and ship them to Antarctica to be forced to mine for jewels and gold. Well, there is a very good reason for that: by a strict constructionist interpretation of the American Constitution, there is no support for being able to deport liberals to a mining camp. Now, if conservatives were a bit more flexible with their view of the Constitution, they would say things like, 'Well, we have to remember it's a living document, and the Founding Fathers hadn't even thought of the threat of hippies running around free when they wrote it.' And then they'd look to the Commerce Clause and say, 'Well, keeping liberals from meddling in America and forcing them do something useful like mining sure would help the economy, so it's within the government's power.' And then it'd just be a manner of scheduling all the boats to get liberals to Antarctica. But that would violate the spirit of the Constitution since, by plain English interpretations of the government's powers, we can't forcefully ship liberals to Antarctica no matter how much people may think that would help the country. And that's the point of the Constitution: people are constantly changing their ideas of what is good and bad, but the Constitution is much harder to change. It puts limits on what the government can do, and those limits can only be changed when huge majorities agree to it through the amendment process. And even after ObamaCare, there inexplicably isn't enough support for a 'Liberals Are to Be Sent to Mines in Antarctica' amendment." --humor columnist Frank J. It Just Keeps Getting...

This  just might make your day a little brighter!!

Those of you, who worry about democrats versus republicans -- relax, here is our real problem.
In a Purdue University classroom, they were discussing the qualifications to be President of
the United  States.  It was pretty simple. The candidate must be a  natural born
citizen of at least 35 years of age.  However, one girl in the class immediately
started in on how  unfair was the requirement to be a natural born citizen.  In
short, her opinion was that this requirement prevented many  capable individuals
from becoming president.  The class  was taking it in and letting her rant, and
not many jaws hit  the floor when she wrapped up her argument by stating  "What
makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this  country than one
born by C-section?"  Yep, these are the  same kinds of 18-year-olds that are now
voting in our  elections!

They breed and they walk among  US...

YEP   HERE IS ANOTHER LEFTIST DEMOCRAT LEADER IN  THE MAKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blessed are they who can  laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be
amused.

US Newspaper Demographics: The Truth at Last!

This appears to be a valid description of Newspaper readers. Ya think?
Share your thoughts.

 The Demographics of American Newspapers:

1.  The Wall Street Journal is read by the people who run the country.

2.  The Washington Post is read by people who think they run the country.

3.  The New York Times is read by people who think they should run the
country and who are very good at crossword puzzles.

4. USA Today is read by people who think they ought to run the country, but
don't really understand The New York Times.  They do, however, like their
statistics shown in pie charts.

5.  The Los Angeles Times is read by people who wouldn't mind running the
country -- if they could find the time -- and if they didn't have to leave
Southern California to do it.

6.  The Boston Globe is read by people whose parents used to run the country
and did a poor job of it, thank you very much.

7. The New York Daily News is read by people who aren't too sure who's
running the country and don't really care as long as they can get a seat on
the train.

8.  The New York Post is read by people who don't care who is running the
country as long as they do something really scandalous, preferably while
intoxicated, and who like their news as pictures and/or cartoons.

9.  The Miami Herald is read by people who are running another country, but
need the baseball scores.

10. The San Francisco Chronicle is read by people who aren't sure if there
is a country or that anyone is running it; but if so, they oppose all that
they stand for.  There are occasional exceptions if the leaders are
handicapped minority feminist atheist dwarfs who also happen to be illegal
aliens from any other country or galaxy, provided, of course, that they are
not Republicans.

11.  The National Enquirer is read by people trapped in line at the grocery
store.

12.  The Seattle Times is read by people who have recently caught a fish and
need something in which to wrap it.

WELCOME TO THE NEW AMERICA Part IV, The Conclusion

The One World Community, dream of the humanist, progressives, leftist.

Beyond their stated objective of actualizing the self, humanist are driven by a compulsive desire to bring all nations together into a unified “world community”.

“We are going to change the United States of America!"
( Barack Hussein Obama) The most leftist President in the history of these United States of America

Beyond their stated objective of actualizing the self, humanist are driven by a compulsive desire to bring all nations together into a unified “world community”.

In the world of humanist, progressives, leftist,  the New Ager’s millennium, would be known for it’s spiritual experiences. Experiences that would transcend the scared and merge the whole of human experience into a continuum of religious thought and activity.  In the final stages ,the New Age Movement would be a religion.  I offer such examples such as the “global warming” groupies who have made global warming a religion unto it’s self. The enviro-nuts who worship trees, plants and animals and demand the same rights for them as humans.

H.G.Wells, celebrated writer for the New Age Movement had this to say:
“It will become a great world movement as widespread and evident as socialism  or communism. It will  largely have taken the place of these movements. It will be more; it will be a world religion. The large loose assimilatory mass of groups and societies will definitely and obviously attempting to swallow up the entire population of the world and become a new human community”

Another offspring of the New Agers is ,The United Religions Initiative (URI) was founded in 1993 by William Swing, Bishop of the Episcopal Church Diocese of California, as an Interfaith organization that seeks to bind religions of the world into one common organization. The people (and the organizations they represent) who have drawn close to URI is striking; to name a few, World Economic Forum, Earth Charter movement, Ted Turner, Ford Foundation, Dee Hock (inventor of the VISA credit card, founder and former CEO of VISA International), Maurice Strong (Canadian billionaire), Bill Gates (Microsoft founder), among others. The URI is also closely allied with the United Nations.

Another example of religion in globalism is the Aspen Institute, Aspen Institute, formerly called the Aspen Institute for Humanistic Studies.  Aspen Institute has been an is funded by the U.S. Taxpayer (via National Endowment for the Humanities).

The Aspen Institute holds strongly to the Humanist Manifesto(s) I&II. It is the Humanist, Leftist, Progressive’s bible, their (un)holy writ. Here are a few quotes form Humanist Manifest II:

"As in 1933, Humanists still believe that traditional theism, especially faith in the prayer-hearing God, assumed to love and care for persons, to hear and understand their prayers, and to be able to do something about them, is an unproved and outmoded faith. . . Reasonable minds look to other means for survival... False 'theologies of hope' and messianic ideologies, substituting new dogmas for old, cannot cope with existing world realities... No deity will save us, we must save ourselves".

"Ethics is autonomous and situational, needing no theological or ideological sanction.”  This is where the idea of“it it feels good do it” evolved.

"In the area of sexuality, we believe that intolerant attitudes, often cultivated by orthodox religions and puritanical cultures unduly repress sexual conduct"

"We urge that parochial loyalties and inflexible moral and religious ideologies be transcended. Destructive ideological differences among communism, capitalism, socialism, conservatism, liberalism, and radicalism should be overcome."

'[Humanism]... transcends the narrow allegiances of church, state, party, class or race in moving toward a wider vision of human potentiality. What more daring a goal for humankind than for each person to become, in ideal as well as practice, a citizen of a world community.”

There is an extraordinary parallelism between Humanists and Marxists. Among the more obvious are:
  • rejection of traditional Christianity and religion
  • the necessity for subordination of the individual to state and the community
  • catchwords of both Humanism and Marxism are "democracy, peace and high standard of living"
  • individual rights and beliefs are non-existent.  Collectivism is supreme.

One cannot help but note how the American court system via Leftist Judges judicial diktat  is  fanatically  removing every semblance of Judeo-Christian symbolism from public places using the argument of "Separation of Church and State." In spite of the fact that Old America's heritage is deeply rooted in simple concepts like the Ten Commandments, these are now persona non grata. To the global elite, the Humanist, Leftist, Progressives, however, there apparently is no "separation of church and state"... as long as it is their religion and their state: Neither of these welcome traditional evangelical Christianity.

When the Humanist, Leftist, Progressives can finally rule the nation, and they are close to doing just that, The Humanist Maifesto will become the Global Bible. The Eagle will have fallen , the New America will only be part of a Global World Order and Old America will be no more.

Welcome to the New World Order.

Are we closer than most think?  Your thoughts are appreciated.

WELCOME TO THE NEW AMERICA Part III

Why, in such a short time , have basic Christian truths lost their influence over our once godly nation?  Why do we as a people bear so little resemblance to the brave souls who birthed us? Why has American been reduced to a second-rate nation, seemingly defenseless against a raging torrent of socialist insurgents, incurable diseases, and international terrorism? What happened to old America?

What happened to Old America?

In the search for answers to the question of What happened to the Old America it is evident that one must take into consideration of  the Who created the atmosphere for the decline  as well as the What.

Thomas Reed, author of  The Fallen Eagle  takes the position that humanism is the force behind  the destruction of the Judeo-Christian infrastructure, a position with which I agree.  Humanism or a term more familiar perhaps, the New Age Movement as it is often called, has dumped the deadly germs into mainstream American political, educational, economic and religious thought.  Through the infections and infectious outbreaks have sprung environmentalist who now worship the environment rather than the Creator of the environment, globalist, socialist, feminist, who degrade and destroy any form of masculinity in the male gender while taking on the identity which they so decry. Groups claiming civil rights but yet trampling on others civil rights in order to advance their own agenda, such as gay rights, abortion rights, children rights, liberalism, the green movement, progressivism , the peace movement etc.---yet under any other guise they are humanist wrapping them selves in cloaks of deceit and they have infected the very lifeblood of this country’s existence.

Humanism is a term which certainly is interchangeable with Liberalism or Progressivism or as is also often used, Leftism.
In Leftism, or humanism, progressivism or what ever term you wish to use, there are no sacred texts.  The demotion of the sacred in general and of the sacred texts is at the center of their thinking. For one to say that the Bible is sacred then one has to revere it more than they revere their own feelings in accessing what is right and wrong. But for the Lefist, humanist, progressives, what is right and wrong is determined by the individual’s feelings . This is the major reason why the Left, since Karl Marx, has been so opposed to Judeo-Christian teachings.  For in the mind of the Humanist there are no standards outside of man, no absolutes to regulate his behavior, no right , no wrong, man alone is responsible for his actions and answerable to no one. He can love himself and find wholeness by being himself. All he needs is education and training to realize his most selfish fantasies and to actualize his unlimited human potential and intellectual awareness.

“Humanism has infiltrated every aspect of our society from the halls of academia, the entertainment industry, the informational media,  to the political process.  They now virtually control America’s corporate business developments, her education process, her press, her government, her entertainment business and most of  organized religion. As a result , humanism is legalized by her courts, legislated by her Congress, idolized by her schools and sanctified by her churches. ...They control the preponderance of American behavior. We are definitely a changed people from even a few decades ago. Sure, old America survives, but the old America is gone.”

Quotes from The Fallen Eagle

Beyond their stated objective of actualizing the self, humanist are driven by a compulsive desire to bring all nations together into a unified “world community”.

The Conclusion is next:  The One World Community, dream of the humanist, progressives, leftist.

WELCOME TO THE NEW AMERICA Part II

How has this happened.

In  the New America.  Truth has fallen in the street, and justice lies by her side.

Thomas Reed, in his book , The Fallen Eagle, list several reasons as to how this has happened.

He states in this New America that:

“Deception is on steroids.  An apathetic self, lacking love, has become our god. The good are despised and maligned. The bad are often worshiped as heroes. Sin is accepted as everyday behavior. Blame is laid at the feet of society or poverty or discrimination.”

His points should be well taken for certainly we have seen these exact things occurring not just in past times but daily especially the point of “the bad are often worshiped as heroes”. How often in recent days have law breakers been upheld as “heroes”?

Army Pfc. Bradley E. Manning, the individual who stole and passed confidential material has now become a byword for anti-establishment heroism.

Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks.org,  is now being rewarded with a multimillion dollar book deal when in fact he would have been immediately thrown under the jail in days not to long past. But all that has changed, the bad are now heroes and rewarded well.  But yet he is acclaimed a hero.

Football player, Michael Vick, convicted of killing dogs in the horrific “sport” of dog fighting is hailed a hero, given a huge contract to return to professional football, is given a pass by the NFL, is given a hand of support by the President of these United States himself.  I have a tough time believing that his little tiny prison sentence made him realize the error of his ways, as he is claiming.    I do not have a tough time believing that he felt some regret, but only regret that he got caught.  Because if he hadn't gotten caught... you'd better believe that he'd still be fighting dogs, and yes, killing dogs.  And he wouldn't be feeling any remorse for it.  But he is acclaimed a hero.

Next, Mr. Reed writes:
“Prosperity has spoiled us. We have borrowed recklessly with little or no concern for the future just to maintain a lifestyle we cannot afford. We are proud. We have plenty. We are lovers of pleasure compounded(entertainment non-stop).”

We mass murder millions of innocent babies, then import (illegally and legally) foreign workers, especially from our southern neighbors, to do our menial jobs that we are too lazy or too burdened with debt to do. ...Biblical Christians in the (N)new America are hated, scoffed at , and portrayed as idiots.” (Comments in the previous post by one poster certainly points to the validity of the statement)

In the (N)new America, taking responsibility for one’s own success has faded as individual and group rights have risen; not only have he risen but they ride roughshod over the freedoms of those unable or unwilling to claim special rights.

The (N)new America has (for the most part) turned her back on God and seems destined to continue to do so because our institutional infrastructures are powerful, pervasive , and godless. For this ethically challenged generation, traditional Judeo-Christian values have long since vanished for the public square, just like God’s Word.”

Our enemies blackmail us with oil and threats of nuclear attack. Others fly our own planes into skyscrapers killing thousands. Terrorist plots and homegrown cells put us under siege. Our borders are porous, hardly a barrier to determined “American haters who threaten our annihilation.”

Any other thoughts, ideas or opinions?

Why, in such a short time , have basic Christian truths lost their influence over our once godly nation?  Why do we as a people bear so little resemblance to the brave souls who birthed us? Why has American been reduced to a second-rate nation, seemingly defenseless against a raging torrent of socialist insurgents, incurable diseases, and international terrorism? What happened to old America?

WELCOME TO THE NEW AMERICA

In light of recent events in our country I think it an appropriate time to start a new series on the end of the Old America and the beginning of the New America.
I am not sure that all will like this New America but it has been foisted upon us slowly and surely over the last seventy plus years.

In June 2007, The President of these United States,  Barack Hussein Obama
, said, “Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation — at least, not just.  We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.” In 2009, he says we “do not consider ourselves a Christian nation” at all.  So according to this President  we have gone from not “just” a Christian Nation to “we no longer consider ourselves a Christian nation” at all.

Welcome to the New America.

The U.S. Supreme Court meant when, in Church of the Holy Trinity v. United States, 143 U.S. 437 (1892), they held that “this is a Christian nation.” They meant that this nation was founded on biblical principles, and that those who brought these biblical principles to this land and who implemented those principles in our system of government were for the most part professing Christians who were actively involved with Christian churches. For the most part the Founding Fathers belonged to some Christian Church.

American has always been considered a Christian nation, not that all Americans are or ever were Christians. But the vein of biblical based thought has run throughout our country since it’s birth.  For over 150 years, the tenets of Christian belief and behavior have been mingled in our society, our government, our educational system, our worldview, and our culture. All reflected the teachings of God’s Holy Word.

The Old America has quietly disappeared. In the New America, Christian values and morals are no longer acdepted or taught. Evil is called good, right is called wrong. “What is” determines what ought to be. Situational ethics supercede the unchanging absolutes found in the Scriptures, the very scriptures that our Founders believed in.

In  the New America.  Truth has fallen in the street, and justice lies by her side.  Your thoughts!

Next: How has this happened.

In the upcoming parts of this series I will be including some excerpts from the book, THE FALLEN EAGLE, by Thomas G. Reed.  For those of you who read the series on Capitalism in America you can now read the opinions expressed by Mr. Reed on the subject of The Fall of Christianity in America.
Some of you asked for more of Mr. Reed’s opinions and specifically his thoughts on this new subject.
I hope that you will enjoy reading as much as I have enjoyed putting together this series.

Westboro Church Gets Radio Program

Westboro Baptist Church changes picket plans  and get radio program time:
Read the explantion, weak as it is, and decide:   Is he right or wrong?

Westboro Baptist Church has dropped plans to picket the funerals of six victims gunned down Jan. 8 in Tucson, Ariz., in exchange for air time on a nationally syndicated radio show. The small, family church from Topeka, Kan., widely known for anti-gay protests at funerals of dead soldiers and celebrities, announced  Jan. 12 that church members would appear Monday, Jan. 17, on The Mike Gallagher Radio Show "in lieu of picketing the funerals of those killed in the Tucson shooting spree."

Gallagher  a radio host and conservative political commentator with an audience of about 10 million listeners, said it was a "no-brainer" for him to allow members of the controversial church clan to air their views on his program instead of bothering families grieving in Arizona.

Gallagher said he did the same thing in 2006, after the church announced plans to protest the funerals of five Amish girls murdered in Lancaster County, Pa., and following the Virginia Tech shootings in 2007.

"Make no mistake about it," Gallagher said in a video  explaining the decision. "The only reason I am doing this, the only reason I am giving the Westboro Baptist Church -- which by the way I believe is neither Baptist nor a church; it's largely the Phelps family, the extended grandkids and all of that -- the reason I'm doing this is singular. I have only one goal, and that is to keep the Phelpses from protesting and picketing outside these six funerals, including that of the little 9-year-old girl who was slain last week. I'm not particularly interested in what they have to say, but I'm willing to give them this platform."

Gallagher said he knows the decision "doesn't sit well with a lot of people" but it didn't come "lightly or casually."

"Even though you may be unhappy with this decision, it's my goal to stick to my values every day, do what I believe in, and I believe with all of my heart that giving them air time is the right thing to do," he said.

Gallagher said his Salem Radio Network bosses "were very uncomfortable with the idea" but eventually agreed to it on the condition that the church's views were balanced with those of a respected theologian. He said Dinesh D'Souza, a best-selling author and apologist recently  named president of King's College in New York City, would join the one-hour discussion.

"We have managed to do what the courts have been unable to do, and that is to stop the Westboro Baptist Church from going to hurt these particular families," Gallagher said. "Frankly, we're very proud of that, especially in the light of this discourse that we've heard all week, this horrendous accusation that talk radio somehow led to the events of last Saturday in Tucson with our so-called inflammatory rhetoric. Well, I'm pretty proud of the fact that talk radio, in this case my show, has been the tool, has been the vehicle, to stop Westboro Baptist Church from protesting outside these funerals all of this week."

Gun Bans Equal Common Sense...Hardly

I invite you to read Stephen E. Wrights Blog  on the Tucson incident. It is one of the most clearly stated and most common sense article that I have read on the subject.

He has other blog post in regard to owning firearms below this particular post and they are all very well written.

He also refutes the idea that those proposing stricter gun laws , under the guise of "common sense" offer anything but common sense.

Two links are provided in order to give readers the opportunity to read all post on gun ownership as well as the post on the Tucson incident.

Step Into The Future

In view of recent events and the prolific postings on the happening I thought I would post on a somewhat lighter subject but one which is even more frightful perhaps than all the back and forth of who is to blame .  Of course we should all be reminded of the infamous words of, Rahm Emanuel ,a recent “rat” who abandoned the ship of Hope and Change to run for Mayor of Obama’s adopted home town of Chicago, “never let a good crisis go to waste”.  Of course the recent events are a tragedy , not a crisis but yet the Left already refers to it as a crisis.

I received from good friend , classmate, and always a Marine,  Harmon, what , after reading , will certainly make one think about what crisis brought about the occurrences set forth in the following “essay”.  Take the trip into the future with this imaginary scenario and decide what such crisis brought about such things.

What will this “crisis” bring forth?

Winston, come into the dining room, it’s time to eat,” Julia yelled to her husband.
“In a minute, honey, it’s a tie score,” he answered.  Actually Winston wasn’t very interested in the traditional holiday football game between Detroit and Washington .  Ever since the government passed the Civility in Sports Statute of 2017, outlawing tackle football for its “unseemly violence” and the “bad example it sets for the rest of the world,” Winston was far less of a football fan than he used to be.  Two-hand touch wasn’t nearly as exciting.

Yet it wasn’t the game that Winston was uninterested in.  It was more the thought of eating another TofuTurkey.  Even though it was the best type of Veggie Meat available after the government revised the American Anti-Obesity Act of 2018, adding fowl to the list of federally-forbidden foods, (which already included potatoes, cranberry sauce and mince-meat pie), it wasn’t anything like real turkey.  And ever since the government officially changed the name of “Thanksgiving Day” to “A National Day of Atonement” in 2020, to officially acknowledge the Pilgrims’ historically brutal treatment of Native Americans, the holiday had lost a lot of its luster.

Eating in the dining room was also a bit daunting.  The unearthly gleam of government-mandated fluorescent light bulbs made the Tofu Turkey look even weirder than it actually was, and the room was always cold.  Ever since Congress passed the Power Conservation Act of 2016, mandating all thermostats—which were monitored and controlled by the electric company — be kept at 68 degrees, every room on the north side of the house was barely tolerable throughout the entire winter.

Still, it was good getting together with family.  Or at least most of the family.  Winston missed his mother, who passed on in October, when she had used up her legal allotment of live-saving medical treatment.  He had had many heated conversations with the Regional Health Consortium, spawned when the private insurance market finally went bankrupt, and everyone was forced into the government health care program.  And though he demanded she be kept on her treatment, it was a futile effort.  “The RHC’s resources are limited,” explained the government bureaucrat Winston spoke with on the phone. “Your mother received all the benefits to which she was entitled.  I’m sorry for your loss.”

Ed couldn’t make it either.  He had forgotten to plug in his electric car last night, the only kind available after the Anti-Fossil Fuel Bill of 2021 outlawed the use of the combustion engines — for everyone but government officials.  The fifty mile round trip was about ten miles too far, and Ed didn’t want to spend a frosty night on the road somewhere between here and there.

Thankfully, Winston’s brother, John, and his wife were flying in.  Winston made sure that the dining room chairs had extra cushions for the occasion.  No one complained more than John about the pain of sitting down so soon after the government - mandated cavity searches at airports, which severely aggravated his hemorrhoids.

Ever since a terrorist successfully smuggled a cavity bomb onto a jetliner, the TSA told Americans the added “inconvenience” was an “absolute necessity” in order to stay “one step ahead of the terrorists.”  Winston’s own body had grown accustomed to such probing ever since the government expanded their scope to just about anywhere a crowd gathered, via Anti-Profiling Act of 2022.  That law made it a crime to single out any group or individual for “unequal scrutiny,” even when probable cause was involved.  Thus, cavity searches at malls, train stations, bus depots, etc., etc., had become almost routine.  Almost.

The Supreme Court is reviewing the statute, but most Americans expect a Court composed of six progressives and three conservatives to leave the law intact.  “A living Constitution is extremely flexible,” said the Court’s eldest member, Elena Kagan.  “ Europe has had laws like this one for years.  We should learn from their example,” she added.

Winston’s thoughts turned to his own children.  He got along fairly well with his 12-year-old daughter, Brittany, mostly because she ignored him.  Winston had long ago surrendered to the idea that she could text anyone at any time, even during Atonement Dinner.  Their only real confrontation had occurred when he limited her to 50,000 texts a month, explaining that was all he could afford.  She whined for a week, but got over it.

His 16-year-old son, Jason, was another matter altogether.  Perhaps it was the constant bombarding he got in public school that global warming, the bird flu, terrorism or any of a number of other calamities were “just around the corner,” but Jason had developed a kind of nihilistic attitude that ranged between simmering surliness and outright hostility.  It didn’t help that Jason had reported his father to the police for smoking a cigarette in the house, an act made criminal by the Smoking Control Statute of 2018, which outlawed smoking anywhere within 500 feet of another human being.  Winston paid the $5,000 fine, which might have been considered excessive before the American dollar became virtually worthless as a result of QE13.  The latest round of quantitative easing the federal government initiated was, once again, to “spur economic growth.”  This time they promised to push unemployment below its years-long rate of 18%, but Winston was not particularly hopeful.

Yet the family had a lot for which to be thankful, Winston thought, before remembering it was a Day of Atonement..   At least he had his memories.  He felt a twinge of sadness when he realized his children would never know what life was like in the Good Old Days, long before government promises to make life “fair for everyone” realized their full potential.  Winston, like so many of his fellow Americans, never realized how much things could change when they didn’t happen all at once, but little by little, so people could get used to them.

He wondered what might have happened if the public had stood up while there was still time, maybe back around 2009, when all the real nonsense began.  “Maybe we wouldn’t be where we are today if we’d just said ‘enough is enough’ when we had the chance,” he thought.

Maybe so, Winston.  Maybe so.

A Parody on Obama's Tucson Speech

I am certain that some will take offense to this post but that’s ok. I don’t mind offending you at all. After all if you are offended then you evidently support the use of such words that the individual elected to the highest office in the land used but decry such if anyone on the Right uses words, which you consider inflammatory. So if you do not consider the words highlight and used by your elected leader to be inflammatory then I am glad that I offend you because you see, you offend me with your hypocrisy.

If Barack Hussein Obama could use his “fighting words” in his speech in Arizona and say what he really would like to say, I believe it would go something like this:

My fellow liberals uh, citizens, Uh, Uh.  We gather here today to make a show that we are on the right track after eight years of the mess I inherited. It is because of this mess that we had the mess in Arizona the other day where hundreds of people  were shot and killed by an individual so engrained with the vitriol of the rightwing people like Rush Limbaugh,   uh, you know we really do need to enact the bill that will remove him from the airwaves and uh, “It’s time to fight for it!” uh, uh .... that he acted in a typical manner of those he is so enamored with.  You know the rest of the names such as Palin, Hannity, O’Reilly so I don’t really need to go into all that, uh since, uh you know,uh, they are all part of the ,uh, mess I inherited.

We all know that the Congresswoman was shot because she supported my Health Care bill. (Note: no mention that she opposed his immigration ideas of Amnesty) and the shooter was against it as is the Right which he is so representative of.

Now I am here to tell you that the Right’s vitriol must end, uh but I , uh,  “I don’t want to quell anger, I think people are right to be angry, I’m angry!” and it’s time to “Get in Their Faces!”.

These people who oppose me, and you know  who you are and I know who they are because “We talk to these folks....  Uh,  So I know whose ass to kick”   and I say  it’s time to “Punish your enemies,” before they can take advantage of having a majority in Congress where they hope to kill my socialist agenda, uh, progressive uh, agenda, uh the one that uh, will let me pull the bus, uh, the one that , uh where people who oppose my agenda need to be sitting and keeping quite, and get us out of the mess I inherited, uh , the same mess that got us into the mess we are in today, uh and created the crises we face in Arizona.

I , uh, will , uh, not stand by and allow this good crisis go to waste I will create new legislation to silence these radical Rightwingers. The FCC is working feverishly as I speak to do that exact thing. I have ordered them to spare no resources, uh, nor uh, money(which we don't have but that's ok, we can print some more) in this endeavor.

I have ordered the EPA to enact laws that will force those who oppose me to either go with the “Change” I promised or leave and uh, of course, leaving would be my dream so that only my friends who I supported in the Dream Act will be left in this state.  That will of course uh, mean, uh that the Right can no longer oppose my actions in this state.

Now, if the Right had not incited this incident I could be playing golf today instead of standing here talking about some people getting hurt along with my dear friend, uh, uh, Congresswoman, uh, uh my friend you know. (Teleprompter malfunction )

I leave you now with these words:  “I’m itching for a fight.” after all they are “...  just Words”, nothing inflammatory about them.

So until another crisis comes along, I’m off... there are lots of golf courses around here and I may be able get in a round before dark.

(as he leaves the podium ...  Michelle go shopping after all the taxpayers are footing the bill for this trip.... Ain’t it great! )

IT'S NUTS!!!

Leave it to the Left to take a tragic incident such as the shooting of  Congresswoman Giffords to finger point and spew their bias toward anyone and anything on the Right.  It matters not that they have no shred of evidence that the shooter responded to any of their allegations and  so called reasons for the shooting but when has a few facts stood in the way of the Left when THEY want to make their point.  The worst of all these offensive Leftist rants occurred on The LOOKOUT, a Yahoo blog:  Giffords had been target of violent threats.

Much of the same nonsense was repeated on the AP report on Yahoo as well. In fact it could have been written by the same person given the tone of it.

On CNN one “Reporter” said that the shooter was said to have been a Army Vet recently returned from Afghanistan but didn’t bother to check the facts to see if the individual actually had served in Afghanistan.

There is absolutely no record of this nutcase ever being in the military. According to  Army records he attempted to enlist but was rejected but no reason was given but one can pretty much guess.  Loner, living at home in mommy and daddy's downstairs, pot smoking , anti-religious.... As a former recruiter he would not rank high on my list.

Here is an example of the leftist jumping on the bandwagon with unfounded statements: From the AP---"Giffords has drawn the ire of the right in the last year, especially from politicians like Sarah Palin over her support of the health care bill. It's still not clear if the gunman had the health care debate in mind or was focused on his own unique set of political beliefs as witnessed in the Internet videos."

Always leave it to the left to somehow drag Palin or Bush into the topic which neither had anything to do with.

And from the loonier leftist in the comment section of the same AP article posted on Yahoo:

PALINIST KILLS - CHILD & ASTRONAUT'S WIFE CUT DOWN - SARAH OFFERS BRISTOL TO RUSH TO BIRTH MESSIAH

Teabaggers have been very casual with their thinly veiled calls for violence over the past two years. Obama is the anti-Christ, gather your armies, second-amendment remedies, cross-hairs on congressmen… the list is endless. And now that their bellicose rhetoric has blown up in their faces, they stampede to the blogs aghast in righteous indignation, crying “Who, US?”
Yes, YOU!
Our nation’s problem:

People like Palin, Limbaugh, Beck, and the other cretins at FOX do not realize, or choose to ignore (for ratings and monetary reasons), the basic fact that the vast majority (not exclusively, but the VAST majority) of their followers are very weak mentally, and therefore extremely susceptible to violent actions by even the slightest insinuation towards violence, i.e. “Don‘t retreat, reload!”. Initiating violent actions gives these poor creatures a bizarre validation to their lives and a feeling that they are doing the “Right thing”, that they are only carrying out “What Sarah, or Rush, or Bill, or Sean would righteously do if they were only able to act and not be held back by the Socialist laws of this corrupt government.”, or something to that effect. One cannot possibly hope to clearly understand the thought processes of this type of individual, but the solution remains startlingly clear: Silence the Palins and Limbaughs of this world….

I just saw the murderer's video and he's spouting the Glenn Beck line about Big Government and the gold standard; the rumor that he's a liberal is patently false. Palin and all the Tea Partiers who are denouncing this event are hypocrites. Today they have blood on their hands. But I'm sure that will make no difference to any of the Republicans here; they consider hypocrisy and bloodletting a virtue.

You right wing sycophants are so bloody sad and predictable. Also completely full of ox dung. This shooting is purely a product of right wing talk radio propaganda, lack of gun control, and nut jobs like YOU, that buy and regurgitate all of the talking points, then absolve themselves of proper blame when the powder keg finally sets off.
 NOW WE KNOW WHAT THE TEA PARTY REALLY STANDS FOR - K I L L I N G
OH, AND GIVE YOURSELVES AN APPLAUSE GLEN BECK, RUSH, FOX NEWS, OREILY, PALIN, REPUKE- LICANS. YOUR HATE IS SPREADING FIERCELY INTO THE COUNTRYSIDE. THIS IS YOUR FINEST MOMENT.........PATHETIC, HYPOCRITE SCUMS.
There were a few comments on the Right that belong in the Lonny bin as well:

THE HATE IN THIS COUNTRY IS FROM OBAMA SHOVING NEW SH$T DOWN OUR THROATS FOR TWO YEARS. PAYING FOR THIS SH$T . AND DIDN'T VOTE FOR HIM . THIS IS THE START OF THE BREAKING POINT
Maybe libs will now realize the Tea Party means business.

That was just a very few out of over 23K comments, none of which were cut by Yahoo .

Loony tunes has just begun.

Just wait until the lonny’s in Washington start the posturing and finger pointing  in Congress instead of getting on with the Nations business.

I'm waiting for Porky Pig to come on and say.... “Uh...  Th ththThhhhat's  all folks!!”

It is past time.

Good night Porky where ever you are since being banned for being politically incorrect.

“DID I DO THAT?”

“DID I DO THAT?”  — "Erkel" Obama asked to the giant sucking sound of a $14 Trillion deficit.

Everyone remembers the famous words of the bumbling Steve Erkle from the TV show  Family Matters of the late 80's and until the late 90's.  His most famous phrase was "Did I do that? and today a bit of humor at the expense of Barrack Obama is used to illustrate a not so humorous situation.

Take Away Their Bullet

... before they shoot themselves in the foot-- again

Anyone who remembers the days of the old Andy Griffin show will certainly remember Barney Fife, the bumbling deputy to Sheriff Andy, who had to carry his  bullet in his shirt pocket and any time he would load his gun he managed to shoot a hole in something but not usually what needed shooting.  Barney would then have to surrender his gun and any bullet that he may have retained for "good measure".

Looks like the newly elected Republican Congress needs to have their bullets taken away from them 'cause they done been shootin' holes where they don't need to be a shootin'.

The new Republican Congress took their seats today in essences with gavels being exchanged between Nancy Pelosi, who has no regrets(more on that another day) and Bohner (Mr. Sobs and Tears) but what will they do tomorrow and the next day, etc, etc.  That is  a BIG question.

Given the lack of leadership shown either in the House or the Senate(Mitch McConnell (K) and the actions taken during the Lame Duck Session it is not boding well for those who had such high expectations. In fact here is what today's Rasmussen Poll had to say:

The new Congress, with Republicans in control of the House, isn’t even seated yet, and voters are already expressing more likely disappointment than they did around Election Day.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 67% of Likely U.S. Voters – two-out-of-three – think it is at least somewhat likely that most voters will be disappointed with Republicans in Congress before the 2012 elections. This includes 37% who say it is Very Likely.

Only 25% believe most voters will not be disappointed in the congressional GOP when the next national elections roll around, but just five percent (5%) say it’s Not At All Likely.
At the beginning of November when a GOP takeover of the House on Election Day appeared inevitable, 59% of voters said it was likely most voters would be disappointed with Republicans in Congress by 2012, with 38% who felt it was Very Likely.

The newly elected Freshmen, who indeed are acting like Freshmen with their lack of decorum and unwise choice of a time to PARTY has only given the Lame Stream Media and the Democrats a HUGE CLUB to begin the beating about the head and shoulders with for the next 24 months.

“If incoming GOP freshmen were hoping to bring fiscal responsibility and ‘family values’ to Washington, they may have gotten off to an interesting start,” conservative blogger Matt Lewis noted,  citing the event’s steep ticket prices, as well as Rimes’s confessed extramarital affair and her recent appearance in a “Sexy Santa” outfit at a gay men’s chorus Christmas performance.
But the grumbling doesn’t seem to have dampened the enthusiasm of the man behind the event — incoming Rep. Jeff Denham of California — for becoming a rainmaker for the 87-member GOP freshman class.

I am not sure what kind of rainmaker Denham is suppose to be but raining on  your own parade and spoiling the party for everyone else ain't what one wants to do. The "liberal smog" from the left coast perhaps has effected his mind for he certainly is not acting like a conservative in the true sense of the word. But that is no excuse.

Here is a list of those confirmed who will attened. Please notice if anyone from your state is taking part in this fiasco. The Sunlight Foundation's "Party Time" site confirms, the list of all the participating members-elect includes:
Jeff Denham, R-Calif.
Scott DesJarlais, R-Tenn. (Tea Party)
Robert Dold, R-Ill. (Tea Party)
Renee Ellmers, R-N.C. (Tea Party)
Jeff Landry, R-La. (Tea Party)
Tom Marino, R-Pa.
Tom Reed, R-N.Y.
David Rivera, R-Fla.
Jon Runyan, R-N.J.
Steve Southerland, R-Fla. (Tea Party)
Marlin Stutzman, R-Ind. (Tea Party)
Kevin Yoder. R-Kan.

Then there is the newly elected David Rivera with a cloud hanging over his head prior to election now comes aboard to really give the LSM and the Democrats something to cheer and point to MORE OF THE SAME AS FOUR YEARS AGO and they are going to have a hey- day with this one.

David Rivera of Florida. A magnet for bizarre accusations, he is already under investigation by Miami-Dade prosecutors for a $500,000 contract he negotiated and helped carry out for his godmother's marketing firm. He claims he received no money for it. Rivera created tremendous ambiguity over his personal income and work history during the campaign that has never been clarified. At one point, he claimed to have worked for USAID, which the agency denied.

He now admits to the mess.

Incoming Congressman David Rivera has admitted receiving $137,000 in undisclosed loans from a company co-owned by his mother -- a company now under criminal investigation over secret payments from the Flagler Dog Track during its campaign to bring slot machines to Miami-Dade pari-mutuels.
Rivera, a Republican from Miami, had never previously disclosed any loans from Millennium in financial statements filed as a congressional candidate, or during his prior tenure in the Florida legislature.

Question is--How did he get a pass on this?  Another HUGE CLUB to be used by the Dems and the LSM!

Cal Thomas recently wrote:

"The lapdog big media will predictably question everything the new Republican House attempts to do, characterizing it as 'insensitive,' pro-rich and even inhuman. They will be helped by unions, which will stage demonstrations against any program cuts or attempts to reduce the size and reach of government. ... As Byron York correctly noted in The Washington Examiner, Democrats will again cry 'Washington is broken' after Republicans take control of the House and improve their numbers in the Senate. To them, Washington 'works' only when it is passing bills authored by Democrats that cost and tax more, while expanding the size and reach of government. Washington is 'broken' when Republicans say 'no' to more dependence on government and yes to liberty, opportunity and personal responsibility. The message from the November election was about ending Obamism, not expanding it. You wouldn't know that from the drooling big media, which is already trying to re-establish the liberal narrative that everything Democrats do is good and everything Republicans do is evil."

And now they have all of the above to use against the Republicans and use it they will to draw away from the underhanded shenanigans that they are sure to continue to try to pull as well as those already pulled.

It is not a very good start, is it?

A Re-Do on Why Oil Is So High

With the price of gasoline rising daily across the country as well as heating oil and other oil products I decided to dust off one of my old blog post from June of 2008.  It seems that the same question continues to be asked regardless of the year or years and that is, Why is oil so high?  In January of 2008 the cost was $84.70, the highest in history, with the record high of $126 a barrel coming in June and July of that year as shown in the post. You can see how the cost has risen from the early 70's here.  The answer remains the same as it has since the 70's.

My friend Mustang on his blog, Social Senses ,makes some astute observations as well on this same subject.Oil Prices Set to Escalate   Take time to read both articles then decide if anything has changed.

Why Oil is So High

I received an e-mail from a friend yesterday about why the price of oil is so high and how this has been allowed to happen. (Regardless of the validity of the e-mail it remains food for thought.) I then ran across a headline this morning saying that the price of oil is now $126 a barrel, and the dollar grows weaker.

The Europeans are preparing to raise interest rates later this year, and this sends the dollar falling even more. Of course, the price of gasoline and oil are rising all over the world as the demand from China and India grows at unprecedented rates.

We were warned of this trend in the 70s, but our Congress has yet to act in a positive manner. They have postured and finger pointed while allowing the environmentalists to control our future through lawsuits to stop drilling; expansion of oil refineries; development of alternate fuels, especially nuclear, which is the cleanest and the most proven of all the other alternatives, including wind.

I know some will want to jump on wind being cleaner, and while that may be true, it is still unproven and requires more land resources and can be harmful to migratory birds. Alas, the enviro-nuts will not admit to this while touting wind as the wave of the future.

Some areas of the country are not suited to wind at all, as we are here in Texas and other parts of the west, but all areas are suited for nuclear power plants. Europe has proven their reliability for many years now, but our government drags their feet in allowing the expansion of this safe and clean source of power, all in the name of political expedience. Some will disagree, but I will be waiting for them to present a more proven alternative. We have wasted enough time. It is now time to build the reactors that will provide the power for America’s growth.

It is time to drill and to develop the shale resources into oil as well, instead of being held hostage by terrorists.(and now our Leadership in the WH) Terrorists held our Embassy people hostage beginning in November 1979, and America has been held hostage to their oil production since that era. It is time to break the hostage situation by declaring war on the lack of initiative by our government in development of alternative fuels other than the ridiculous grain-based Ethanol that is so loved by the enviro-terrorists, and demanding that drilling begin yesterday in areas where we have known oil deposits.

Now read the e-mail that I received and see if it does not speak volumes of truth.
Our country has all of the resources we need if we were smart enough to use them.

(HatTip to classmate and friend Chuck Jones for the e-mail)
Subject: Think about it

The OPEC minister will look you in the eyes and state:

"We are at war with you infidels. Have been since

the embargo in the 1970s. You are so arrogant you

haven't even recognized it. You have more missiles,

bombs, and technology; so we are fighting with the

best weapon we have and extracting on a net basis

about $700 billion/year out of your economy. We will

destroy you! Death to the infidels!

While I am here I would like to thank you for the

following: Not developing your 250- to 300-year supply of oil

shale and tarsands. We know that if you did this, it

would create millions of jobs for US citizens,

expand your engineering capabilities, and keep the

wealth in the US instead of sending it to us to

finance our war against you bastards.

Thanks for limiting defense dept. purchases of

oilsands from your neighbors to the north. We love

it when you confuse your allies.

Thanks for over-regulating every segment of your

economy and thus delaying, by decades, the

development of alternate fuel technologies.

Thanks for limiting drilling off your coasts, in

Alaska, and anywhere there is a bug, bird, fish, or

plant that might be inconvenienced. Better that your

people suffer! Glad to see our lobbying efforts have

been so effective.

Corn-based Ethanol. Praise Allah for this sham

program! Perhaps you will destroy yourself from the

inside with these types of policies. This is a gift

from Allah, praise his name! We never would have

thought of this one! This is better than when you

pay your farmers NOT TO GROW FOOD. Have them use

more energy to create less energy, and

simultaneously drive food prices through the roof.

Thank you US Congress!!!!

And finally, we appreciate you letting us fleece

you without end. You will be glad to know we have

been accumulating shares in your banks, real estate,

and publicly-held companies. We also finance a good

portion of your debt and now manipulate your

markets, currency, and economies to our benefit.

THANK YOU AMERICA!"

Oh Say Can You See?

Oh Say Can You See By The Dawns Early Light

As we come into a new year I am sure that we all understand that there is much work to be done to preserve and restore our country.

After all that has happened we should be able to appreciate how Francis Scott Key must have felt as he watched and then penned the words to what would become our National Anthem. Indeed we have endured the attack on our nation but as the song says, Our flag is still there. Our country still stands, battered and torn but she still stands. Now it's time to get to work with even more determination.

It would appear that we have found our voice once again as evidenced by the 2010 elections but we must not celebrate too early.  At this point there is no real leadership within the Republican Party or frankly within the Tea Party.

It is time for leadership to step up and in fact they should have already stood up and started banging the Left for the debacle of the Lame Duck Congress.

The Left used this time as an opportunity to cram through some of the most radical and worst of Obama's agenda with barely a squeak from the leadership of the Right. Oh , there was a little noise, some tears and snot slinging by the new leader of the House but for the most part it was quite-- to quite folks. There should have been fireworks going off that would have sounded like the roar of cannons.

Waiting until January to begin was what the Left was hoping would happen. The parts of the radical legislation that they could not cram through, such as Crap and Tax, has been handed off to the EPA and other agencies with only threats and promises made by the leadership of the Right to stop it in January, as soon as they are seated.

Once the regulations are in place it's too late, the damage will have already been done.

So don't begin the celebration just yet my friends, there's still much work to do and if we do not insist that those we elected in November of 2010 do their job then we will deserve the mess we get dropped on us by the Left.

So as not to sound too dour, we can allow ourselves a bit of celebration in the fact that many of those who needed to be removed from the Left and the Right are now packing their bags for early retirement.

We can celebrate perhaps that a number of those on the Left are abandoning the Leftist ship but neither of these events guarantee the Right a shoo in victory in 2012. Only "We The People" can do that.

Let's get to work by telling our friends and family that our flag still waves and will continue to do so only if we end the bombardment of Marxism from the Left.
