I invite you to read Stephen E. Wrights Blog on the Tucson incident. It is one of the most clearly stated and most common sense article that I have read on the subject.
He has other blog post in regard to owning firearms below this particular post and they are all very well written.
He also refutes the idea that those proposing stricter gun laws , under the guise of "common sense" offer anything but common sense.
Two links are provided in order to give readers the opportunity to read all post on gun ownership as well as the post on the Tucson incident.

Thanks to both Freds. You all would get along just fine.
I had the opportunity to fire one of these little jewels not too long ago. I was not aware but H%R made a 410 handgun years ago. It was considered a shotgun and due to size it was considered illegal in most states. I believe they were smooth bore however.
I would love to have one of these but the price is a bit more than I want to put out for a handgun. I have a nice 12 Gauge Mossberg 500 Tactical Cruiser Special Purpose Pump-Action Shotgun 18-1/2"barrel 3" Chamber holds 6 Rounds and fits nicely on the arm rest of my Pathfinder. There is another 18 1/2" barrel 20ga that fits in the luggage section attached to the rear door. Can't see it even with door raised up but it is easily accessible. I like shotguns. LOL
Thanks for your kind comments and link! I'm liking your blog and views a whole lot too, though I've just started reading here ...
Thank you Stephen. Come on by anytime and by all means comment.
I have linked your blog to my favorites so I can be sure to keep up with your well written post. My wife noted that you are an author as well as a blogger. She is a publisher and editor. Founder and CEO of Laurus Books.
Did you hear Bill Maher with Jay Leno last night? He is disgusting, but he represents the feeling of many on the Left. The audience didn't give him many applause either.
I don't see the video but here's an article on it:

Hubby and I are two of those that "don't leave home without" our weapons, Maher refers to us.

Debbie I am one of many such as you and your husband.
The old saying on the commerical" Don't leave home without it" does not apply to the credit card of which I own none but I sure own more than one firearm.
