And The Beat (ing) Goes On Part 7

Everyone has heard what a great vehicle the New Chevy Volt is and how it saved "Gubermint Motors" and has contributed to the "pay-off" of their full debt. Which of course has been discovered that this is a lie since they have paid only half and most of that was paid with taxpayer funds not with so called earnings. Still the "used car salesman in Chief" Obama and his lot leeches continue to push this piece of crap as the only way to go for US car manufacturers. (At least Ford is not listening to the hype) And the Beat(ing) Goes On.  At least here you can read the truth in this article by Patrick Michaels.

The Chevrolet Volt is beginning to look like it was manufactured by Atlas Shrugged Motors, where the government mandates everything politically correct, rewards its cronies and produces junk steel.

This is the car that subsidies built. General Motors lobbied for a $7,500 tax refund for all buyers, under the shaky (if not false) promise that it was producing the first all-electric mass-production vehicle.

At least that's what we were once told. Sitting in a Volt that would not start at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show, a GM engineer swore to me that the internal combustion engine in the machine only served as a generator, kicking in when the overnight-charged lithium-ion batteries began to run down. GM has continually revised downward its estimates of how far the machine would go before the gas engine fired, and now says 25 to 50 miles.

It turns out that the premium-fuel fired engine does drive the wheels--when the battery is very low or when the vehicle is at most freeway speeds. So the Volt really isn't a pure electric car after all. I'm sure that the people who designed the car knew how it ran, and so did their managers.

Why then the need to keep this so quiet? It's doubtful that GM would have gotten such a subsidy if it had been revealed that the car would do much of its freeway cruising with a gas engine powering the wheels. While the Volt is more complicated than the Prius, and has a longer battery-only range, a hybrid is a hybrid, and the Prius no longer qualifies for a tax credit.

In other words, GM was desperate for customers for what they perceived would be an unpopular vehicle before one even hit the road. It had hoped to lure more if buyers subtracted the $7,500 from the $41,000 sticker price. Instead, as Consumer Reports found out, the car was very pricey. The version they tested cost $43,700 plus a $5,000 dealer markup ("Don't worry," I can hear the salesperson saying, "you'll get more than that back in your tax credit!"), or a whopping $48,700 minus the credit.

This is one reason that Volt sales are anemic: 326 in December, 321 in January, and 281 in February. GM announced a production run of 100,000 in the first two years. Who is going to buy all these cars?

Another reason they aren't exactly flying off the lots is because, well, they have some problems. In a telling attempt to preserve battery power, the heater is exceedingly weak. Consumer Reports averaged a paltry 25 miles of electric-only running, in part because it was testing in cold Connecticut. (My engineer at the Auto Show said cold weather would have little effect.)

It will be interesting to see what the range is on a hot, traffic-jammed summer day, when the air conditioner will really tax the batteries. When the gas engine came on, Consumer Reports got about 30 miles to the gallon of premium fuel; which, in terms of additional cost of high-test gas, drives the effective mileage closer to 27 mpg. A conventional Honda Accord, which seats 5 (instead of the Volt's 4), gets 34 mpg on the highway, and costs less than half of what CR paid, even with the tax break.

Recently, President Obama selected General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt to chair his Economic Advisory Board. GE is awash in windmills waiting to be subsidized so they can provide unreliable, expensive power.

Consequently, and soon after his appointment, Immelt announced that GE will buy 50,000 Volts in the next two years, or half the total produced. Assuming the corporation qualifies for the same tax credit, we (you and me) just shelled out $375,000,000 to a company to buy cars that no one else wants so that GM will not tank and produce even more cars that no one wants. And this guy is the chair of Obama's Economic Advisory Board?

It really is enough to get you to say Atlas Shrugged. For those who do not know, or who are only vaguely familiar with, the Ayn Rand classic, it is a story of a society in decay, where politically favored technologies and jobs are foisted on the nation, where innovations that might threaten existing corporatist cartels are financially or physically sabotaged as unemployment mounts and the nation spirals into a malaise that makes the Carter years look like Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.

Atlas Shrugged is about to come out as a surprisingly good and entertaining movie (which will be destroyed by Hollywood and New York Critics) on--you guessed it--April 15. Maybe the government could put in an ad before the show with Immelt exhorting Americans to care about "the environment and green jobs." All must buy Volts.

Patrick Michaels is senior fellow in environmental studies at the Cato Institute and author ofClimate Coup: Global Warming's Invasion of our Government and our Lives, which comes out April 22.

And The Beat (ing) Goes On Part 6

OOOPS!

Most thinking individuals know what Barack Obama meant when he kept talking about “shovel ready” projects.  It certainly was not to boost our the economy and create jobs.  Nope.  By shovel ready, Obama meant unloading a pile of manure into our faces while telling us it’s cookie dough ice cream, of the homemade variety.

His speech on Libya said it well and explained it so clearly that all should be astounded. Now that "the Idiot in Chief" has made it clear we will hear little from the LSM on Libya or the US role.

And The Beat (ing) Goes On Part 5

Meanwhile , on VACATION in Rio, while Japan and Libya are in crisis, the "Vacationer in Chief" enjoys his snow cone! And the Beat(ing) Goes On, higher gasoline prices, Disaster in Japan and a Civil War in Libya.  "I don't give a darn...Michelle order another round of snow cones!"

Consistent with his socialist, we-are-all-one agenda, Barack Obama used a non-unanimous 10-vote nod from the United Nations Security Council to justify commencing hostilities against Libya, bypassing Congress, the Constitution, the will of the American public and a couple hundred years' worth of precedents. Since none of these have mattered in the past, why should they now? After all, in the mind of Obama -- or "Our Son, His Excellency" as his erstwhile pal Moammar Gadhafi called him recently -- UN authority supersedes U.S. constitutional authority and sovereignty.
While the president has both the authority and duty to use force in protection of the United States from an actual or imminent attack, that is the extent of his unilateral authority. Congress alone has the authority to approve the use of military force in all other circumstances as it did in the wake of 9/11. In the case of both Afghanistan and Iraq, President George W. Bush specifically approached Congress, asked for and was granted a resolution authorizing the use of military force. His successor -- not so much.  (Full Article can be found here at the Patriot Post )

                                            AND THE BEAT(ING) GOES ON.

THE ONE continues to VOTE Present even though the Courts have said NO, it's time to DRILL and your executive orders are pure Barnyard Bovine Excrement.   But yet WE THE PEOPLE continue to take a BEATING!

And The Beat (ing) Goes On! Part 2

Who is getting a Beating?  We The People are folks in case you haven't noticed-- by the same folks who are in leadership,(supposedly) the ones that got elected by us to cut spending(supposedly) are "screwing up", standing around and allowing us to take the beating while they make excuses. Here is more of the mess they are creating.

Congress has three weeks to put together a plan to fund the government for the next six months and so far all they have done is the usual name calling , posturing and finger pointing.  Obama scolded Congress and said" We can't keep on running the government based on two week extensions."  Speaker Bonehead (HAR-Ohio) pointed out that "we're trying to clean up last year's mess".  Of course he is  somewhat correct on that point since the Democrats didn't bother to even submit a budget for fear that the blood shed of November would be worse than expected. The Republicans were wrong for not forcing the issue and jumping up and down on the issue but then some were too busy "running for position". Bonehead's name comes to mind since that all he could do during much of last term.
So it seems that some important issues are now on the back burner and We The People are in for another BEATING. Defunding of Planned Parenhood and Obamanocare are all set aside despite promises from GOP leadership to scuttle both immediately but seems it will wait until a more convenient time. Of course the primary antagonist of the "good ole boys" in the GOP, Rep Michele Bachmann (R-MN) doesn't like it one bit and has taken on the "ole boy's" establishment and firing both barrels saying "You don't win if you don't fight". and how right she is.  It appears that the "establishment GOP is taking on Obama's tactic of retreat and bowing as well as stuttering while taking NO ACTION , and the Beat(ing) goes on.
Bachmann and Steven King (R-Iowa) called for the GOP to stand by their pledge. "If we do not stand our ground on the CR (continuing resolutions)... and use it to stop the $105.5 billion... Obamacare will be implemented on our watch, and ...we will find it difficult--if not impossible--to regain the strategic advantage."

Right now, it's the Democrats with the strategic advantage. For weeks, they've managed to "bully" the GOP with their threat of a government shutdown. Everyone, including the Associated Press knows there's really no such thing as a government shutdown (unless you're planning a visit to the National Parks). Given the fact of how limited the impact would be, there's absolutely no reason for Republicans to cower, hide under their desk and not stand their ground on the pledge made pre-November and in January. Nevertheless, the three-week extension  gives up not only social ground but fiscal ground as well. Of the twenty-five programs targeted in this CR, twenty-three of the cuts were requested by the President or Democrats. As for the other two, they simply end the funding for two projects that no longer exist. So far all the three CR;s have done is cut $10 billion but it is but a smoke screen to cover the $4 billion that is being borrowed every day.
Republican Study Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (Ohio), in an attempt to get the leadership back on track has presented the Committees own budget proposal but so far no one is listening and the Beat(ing) Goes On.

Who else is slinking and lurking in the shadows and doing nothing to keep the momentum of November on track?   Well it seems that the "Pelosi" like clone from Alaska, RINO Senator Murkowski doesn't agree with the pledge to defund Planned Parenthood and using the same language as Planned Parenthood leaders and  former House Speaker Pelosi claims they provide "vital services". Wonder if she meant services such as pimping for teen hookers  , providing abortions and then covering it up, surely not!  But alas it's true, she defends Planned Parenthood and the GOP does nothing but REWARD HER!
One would think that the Republicans would be running from her like running from stink on a skunk but instead Bonehead and the so called leadership rewarded her by allowing her to represent the entire party in the GOP's weekly radio address.

And the Beat(ing) Goes On folks.

The future of this country is at stake and unless it is four more years of "Obamination" that you want please let  your Senator's and Representatives  know that you are tired of the BEATINGS. Let them know that they don't have until 2012 to fiddle around and then claim "WE TRIED" because it won't fly and they will be looking for employment elsewhere but good luck with Obama and his minions in charge for four more years.  STOP THE BEATINGS!

And The Beat (ing) Goes On!

Who is getting a Beating?  We The People are folks in case you haven't noticed-- by the same folks who are in leadership,(supposedly) the ones that got elected by us to cut spending(supposedly) are "screwing up", standing around and allowing us to take the beating while they make excuses.  After you have read this article and if you can tell me that we are not taking a beating , please advise as to what planet you are living on and make arrangements for me to move there cause I've taken about all the beating I can handle.

"In Washington, D.C., America is witnessing one of the grossest spectacles of fiscal incompetence, coupled with denial, ever perpetrated by a political party. And that's the Republicans. Democrats have made it clear that they will accept nothing less than the destruction of the republic, if that's what it take to prove progressivism is 'successful.'
Over the top? Consider this: the highest cut in the federal budget proposed by the Irresponsible Republicans (Bonehead and Can’tor to name two who made such brilliant claims on cutting spending JUST TO GET ELECTED) is $61 billion. The Democrat Destroyers say such a cut is way over the top.
Last month, in 28 days, our government spent $223 billion of money we don't have. That's nearly four times more than the cuts proposed by the Irresponsible’s, every one of which will be fought tooth and nail by the Destroyers.

Any questions? (And if you don’t you need to or are just plain brain dead) I have one. At what point does this eyes-wide-open effort to bankrupt America reach the boiling point with the American public?

If someone came into your house and 'borrowed' a little over seven hundred bucks -- per family member -- I bet most Americans would be pretty upset.(Actually a better word would be ROBBED for that is what it is) Well try dividing $233 billion in borrowed money by 300 million Americans, and guess what: that's precisely what the Obama administration added to every citizen's share of the debt -- in one month."

And the beat goes on, and on and on!

HEY, IS ANYBODY OUT THERE LISTENING???

 Why me Lord: Kris Kristofferson

Kristofferson wrote the lyrics and the music to this song. It says a lot and perhaps can answer the question for some as to WHY ME LORD. We often ask this question in times of trouble but how often do we ask it in times of good. The Lord provides in the time of good and will lead in times of question and times of trouble.

In Jeremiah 1:5 God spoke to Jeremiah and said Before I formed you in the womb I knew your; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.

Perhaps we were not ordained a prophet but God knew us before we were born, while we were still in the womb . He Continues in Jeremiah 29:11 and says: 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Note that the Lord says I know what I think of you, toward you, (even before you were born) and that they were thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you FUTURE AND HOPE! Is there any doubt or any reason to ask WHY ME LORD other than to give Him praise ?

In the New Testament (Mark 4: 35) there is a story of Jesus and His disciples when they started off across the "sea" and a storm arose. Jesus had said. "let's go to the other side". When the storm arose, as so often occurs in our life we become afraid and have doubts but Jesus said, "let's got to the other side" and they did. He will not take us to the middle of the lake/sea and let us sink when he has said "let's go to the other side" and that is what he constantly tells us. I am taking you to the other side. Have no fear. I knew you before your were born and had plans for you. So when we ask. "Why Me Lord" reflect on the verses of scripture provide for you.

I hope that this brings more meaning to the song of today.  What are your thoughts?

No Justice in the DOJ

This administration continues to divide America but yet pronounces anyone who disagrees with them as "racist". If the following does nothing else, it proves just exactly who the "racist are and that "Justice" is only for the chosen.

Thanks to Peter Morrison , fellow Texan and writer of the Peter Morrison Report. Agree or disagree with what or how Morrison has to say, he makes some very valid points in regard to "Justice" being trampled upon and set aside for a chosen few by this administration.

On March 1st, US Attorney General Eric Holder appeared before the
House Appropriations Committee.  During the session, Rep. John
Culberson
(R-Houston) confronted Holder about the infamous New
Black Panther Case from 2008.  To refresh your memory, that was the
case where a couple of members of the New Black Panther Party stood
outside a Philadelphia polling place on Election Day in
paramilitary garb, brandishing night sticks, and using racial slurs
in a blatant attempt to intimidate white voters.  Bartle Bull was a
direct witness to these intimidation efforts.  Bull has a long
history of activism on behalf of liberal Democratic candidates, and
he fought for black voting rights in the South back in the 1960s as
a young  lawyer.  He says one of the New Black Panthers told him
"Now you will see what it means to be ruled by the black man,
cracker."

Other people besides Bull witnessed this blatant racial
intimidation, and a Philadelphia TV news crew caught it on film.
The Department of Justice under President Bush immediately filed
voter intimidation charges against the New Black Panthers, but,
unbelievably, Eric Holder dismissed all charges after the Obama
administration took over the case.  The only "punishment" meted out
was that one of the men agreed not to possess a deadly weapon near
a polling place until after 2012.  Apparently Eric Holder's Justice
Department
thought it would be too harsh to prohibit him from
brandishing a night stick at voting sites after 2012.

When Holder's DOJ dismissed the charges, millions of Americans were
shocked, and there was a huge uproar at this blatant and outrageous
double standard.  It isn't hard to imagine what would happen to a
pair of white thugs brandishing night sticks outside of a polling
place on Election Day while hurling racial slurs at black people.
Needless to say, charges would not have been dismissed in a case
like that. Americans only grew angrier after a couple of
whistleblowers from the Justice Department said that under Eric
Holder
, it is now official policy to refuse to prosecute cases of
discrimination or civil rights violations when the victims are
white.

In fact, the US Civil Rights Commission was so disturbed by these
allegations that it launched an investigation, but the Justice
Department refused to cooperate.  This is why Rep. Culberson
confronted Eric Holder during the recent hearing, to find out why
Justice Department officials were stonewalling the Civil Rights
Commission
.

Eric Holder denied these charges, but his denial simply weren't
believable.  After all, this is the same man who testified before
the Senate back in 2009 that white people are not protected by
"hate crimes" legislation.  He said that "hate crimes" laws were
created to protect only "historically oppressed"  minority groups,
such as non-whites, Jews and homosexuals.  According to Holder,  if
a white person is attacked on account of his race by a Hispanic or
black person, that is not a hate crime.  Holder also declared that
it wouldn't be a hate crime to assault a Christian pastor because
of his religious beliefs.  These are without a doubt the most
shocking words ever uttered by an Attorney General of the United
States.  To the average American, it's inconceivable that laws
should be written specifically to benefit select groups of people,
while treating the majority of Americans as second class citizens
unworthy of the law's protection.  Yet this is what America's top
law enforcement official openly declared to the Senate.

Eric Holder went even further in his indignant response to Rep.
Culberson
:  "Think about that, When you compare what people endured
in the South in the 60s to try to get the right to vote for African
Americans, and to compare what people were subjected to there to
what happened in Philadelphia, which was inappropriate, certainly
that to describe it in those terms I think does a great disservice
to people who put their lives on the line, who risked all, for my
people."

This response was even more telling, as Eric Holder made it clear
he doesn't feel the slightest need to cover up his favoritism
toward black people, and his contempt for the rights of white
Americans.  He referred to black Americans as "my people," and
thinks that armed black militants using racial slurs against whites
at a polling place is merely "inappropriate."  He can't even bring
himself to say that what the New Black Panthers did was illegal.
As Attorney General, Eric Holder's job is to enforce the laws
fairly, without favoritism, to protect all Americans.  One would
think that America's top law enforcement official would only use
the phrase "my people" when referring to all Americans.  To see
Holder use this phrase in a racially exclusive way was truly
jarring, and should serve as a wake up call to all Americans. (What
makes it even more outrageous is that Holder's roots aren't even
African-American - his father immigrated from Barbados, and so did
his maternal grandparents.)

America is rapidly becoming much more racially diverse than it has
been historically.  According to the Census bureau, in 2042 the
American population will become majority non-white, and it's
expected that this year or next more non-white babies will be born
in America than white ones.  In an increasingly multiracial America
it will be redundant and pointless to refer to some races as
"minorities", since every group, including white people, will be a
minority of the population.  It's nice to think an America where
everyone is a minority will be a country where no one is favored or
penalized because of the color of his skin, and everyone is treated
equally.  If the Eric Holders of America have their way though, our
multiracial future will be nothing like that.  Instead it will be a
nightmare of racial hostility, pandering and favoritism, where some
Americans, in George Orwell's famous phrase, will be "more equal"
than others due to the color of their skin.  We should thank Rep.
Culberson for exposing Eric Holder's vicious double standard when
it comes to race, and showing us what the future has in store for
us if left wing radicals have their way.

WHISPERING HOPE by Jim Reeves ( James Travis Reeves-August 20, 1923 – July 31, 1964)

If in the dusk of the twilight,
 Dim be the region afar.
 Will not the deepening darkness,
 Brighten the shimmering star?

Then when the night is upon us,
Why should the heart sink away?
When the dark night is over,
Watch for the breaking of day.

News of the illness of a dear friend and classmate's husband brought this song to mind as well as these passages of Scripture.

May they bring comfort to her and her husband and to those who's hope has been diminished . Just remember--
When the dark night is over, Watch for the breaking of day.

Psalm 31:24
Be of good courage,And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the LORD.

Psalm 130:5
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,And in His word I do hope.

Romans 8:25
But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
