John Boehner thinks President Barack Obama is "engaging" and "smart" — but the speaker-elect is also still smarting over the president's claim that he took taxpayers hostage to secure a tax break for the rich.
In an interview with Leslie Stahl of “60 Minutes” for broadcast Sunday night on CBS, Boehner said Obama showed him “disrespect” by calling him a hostage-taker.
“Excuse me, Mr. President I thought the election was over,” Boehner said, according to a transcript obtained by POLITICO. “You know, you get a lot of that heated rhetoric during an election. But now it's time to govern.”
And this person calls himself the leader of the Republicans in the House? Is all the outrage he can muster all about HIMSELF and being disrespected? A real leader would have jumped on that phrase in Obama’s rant after he compromised with the "chief compromiser" of the Republican party and ran with it, never letting up until the election was over in 2012 but again “Bonehead “fails to show one shred of leadership. And he secretly wants to be POTUS? Just what kind of leadership could he possibly have in this country, facing as we do, multiple problems, when the focus is “all about him”.
It’s time for the new conservatives to stand up to “Bonehead” and not allow him to just walk in and take the gavel in the House. Someone must stand up and “just say no” or at least “just a minute” and show at least as much spine as Rep. Heath Shueler(NC) did against Pelosi. With the leftist Dems in his home district he committed suicide and they will never vote for him again, at least according to the Letters to the Editor in the Asheville Citizen Times. Fortunately or unfortunately there are enough moderates and conservative Democrats in that part of the state to vote for him again and along with the independents and Republicans that were tired of cousin Charlie Taylor’s shenanigans elected him in the first place. He might not be much as I pointed out to one “yellow dog” democrat but he’s what ya got. At least he was against OBAMANOCARE.
With such great leadership (sarcasm on full blast) the Republicans and “Bonehead” in particular along with all the other compromisers the conservatives have little to look for except packing their bags and going home at the end of two years because Obama will evoke Chicago style politics and Alinskey’s rules and great will be the bloodbath once again. The GOP will have no one to blame , not the newbies in Congress for surely that is where they will point the finger and say “if only we hadn’t had all these new conservatives(GOP key word for Tea Partiers) who don’t know how it is in Washington we’d still be in power.” (sarcasm off)
Of course they will never admit that they failed once again to listen to “We the People”. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth much as we have seen by the Democrats in DC since the elections of 2011. The problems is, there will be no lame duck president, only a lame duck congress who could have made the difference but compromised , failed to have a leader other than Boehner(Bonehead) and failed to take control of the conversation which all goes back to my first lines about “Bonehead”. I’ll repeat my summation of this jackass. Remember it was he that was “disrespected, not we the people, who were certainly not held hostage but it’s all about him folks , not you, not me, not the folks who got him to the dance to begin with, just him. He should do well to remember about “dancin with the one whut brung you”. But no, he’s like the girl in that story who got some attention from the “right boys” and danced with them all night only to find that at the end of the night, she was standing all alone with no way home. The end to that story is that the boy "whut brung her" finally had a dance with the "wallflower," and took her home. Eventually they got married and lived happily ever after. His story won't have such a happy ending and neither will ours.
Some of the readers seem to think that I have turned "traitor to the cause" by coming down on John “Bonehead” Boehner but that is the not true by any means. I have never trusted the man and the more I listen to him and watch him the less trust I have in him. There are times when he reminds me of Obama with his arrogance and swagger. Maybe he needs to lay off the hooch after work it appears to be killing what few live brain cells that he may have had at one time. He has shown himself to be a poor leader because he has no idea of how to take one simple phrase such as Obama and others have used and run with it like a third string running back that has just been given the ball with a fourth and ten situation and time running out on the clock.
I am no political genius but I am smart enough to know how to take what the opponent gives you and use it well. I didn’t get to be known as “the Ticker” for nothing you know.
So if you expect me to lighten up anytime soon on him, McConnell or the rest of the compromisers don’t hold your breath. I intend to be on them like a dog on bone or a “Bonehead” until I have reason to do otherwise. So far I ain’t seen nuthin.

Ya' know Ticker, I sometimes get the feeling that you aren't real happy with the future speaker; anymore than you were with the last one. :P
No dis-respekt entinded ya' know wha' I mean?
You got that feeling right!
AT least you knew the last one was an idiot and this one keeps on trying to prove that he is. You'd think..... naw he evidently doesn't.
Part of the problem is that we cannot, no matter which party, stop electing Congressional leaders based on who's "turn" it is.
The Democrats may have held onto the House if they had not elected Pelosi based on it being her turn and affirmative action of course.
Will we be wondering the same thing in 2 years? Could we have held onto the House if they had elected a true leader?
Well you know I agree with you. Bonehead is a good description. We need new leadership.

sorry Ticker - OT just in response to your comment at Z's. I'm a Christian too, I'm not angry at God. I'm angry at the snake oil salesman who sold my sil a bill of goods on the the carrot juice diet. I admit to being angry about someone else pushing the whole idea while ignoring a doctors advice, which is essentially what my sil in law did. She left my brother and four young children.
It was inappropriate of me to hijack Z's comment section and that is why I am leaving a comment here.
I trust that God had a reason for her homegoing but at the same time I won't let someone push that diet like it's a miracle cure.
ElBro, not a problem and I certainly understand. I have dealt with a lot of individuals going through the greif process for loved ones and often times anger is expressed in various ways. Being angry at God is not a sin and he is so willing to listen to us when we are angry. Sometime, I have found, that this is the only time some folks ever talk to Him. Being angry at the "snake oil salesmen" is what I would call righteous anger but even then we must not allow it to consume us. We must forgive, no I didn't say forget, I said forgive or we will do more harm than good.
I have been there and one instance it took me 17 years to forgive and to forgive myself. It was a costly 17 years.
E mail me at afticker@yahoo.com if you wish to talk more.
I'm quite done with the grief process, so I don't need other Christians to psychoanalyze me, though I appreciate it.
I only hoped to give someone else pause before they go drinking gallons of carrot juice hoping their tumors will shrink.
and you can reach me at elmersbrother@yahoo.cm
Boehner is too busy crying because he was once a shoeshine boy. I admit there are some things that I get emotional about, but I try not to display that sort of thing in public. I agree with you that Mr. Speaker designate needs testosterone therapy because I’d hate to think the DC Madam has more balls than he does.
