In view of the Leftist calling for more income redistribution, I felt the need to post a few quotes on the subjecdt from both those who advocate what the Left desire, socialism , and those, who like our founders saw that ideology as the evil it is.
I also wish to call attention to a very apt description of those on the Left of today. This explains in part their desire for a socialist form of government under the guise of "democratic socialist" thus I have highlighted it.
"The Champions of socialism call themselves progressives, but they recommend a system which is characterized by rigid observance of routine and by a resistance to every kind of imporovement. They call themselves liberals , but they are intent upon abolishing liberty. They call themselves democrats, but they yearn fro dicttorship. They call themselves revolutionaries, but they want to make the government ominpotent. They promise the blessings of the Garden of Eden, but they plan to transform the world into a gigantic post office."--- Ludwig von Mises

The goal of socialism is communism."--Vladimir Lenin
The Theory of Communism may be summed up in one sentence: Abolish all private property. Karl Marx.
"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries." -- Winston Churchill The goal of socialism is communism."--Vladimir Lenin
"We are socialists, we are enemies of today's capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions." -- Adolf Hitler
"In a higher phase of communist society... only then can the narrow horizon of bourgeois right be fully left behind and society inscribe on its banner: from each according to his ability and each according to his needs." Karl Marx.
"What distinguished Nazism from other brands of socialism and communism was not so much that it included more aspects from the political right (though there were some). What distinguished Nazism was that it forthrightly included a worldview we now associate almost completely with the political left: identity politics. This was what distinguished Nazism from doctrinaire communism, and it seems hard to argue the marriage of one leftist vision to another can somehow produce right-wing progeny." -- Jonah Goldberg
Our Founders had this to say:
To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it." Thomas Jefferson, letter to Joseph Milligan, April 6, 1816
"Congress has not unlimited powers to provide for the general welfare, but only those specifically enumerated" Thomas Jefferson.
"A wise and frugal government .....shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government." Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural Address, March 4 1801
This final quote sums up the thoughts of our founders. I have highlighted this to call attention to the truth contained therein and to point out where we sadly stand as a nation today..
"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, they will herald the end of the republic" Benjamin Franklin.
