How Soon We Forget

"Every time that we try to lift a problem from our own shoulders, and shift that problem to the hands of the government, to the same extent we are sacrificing the liberties of our people." --John F. Kennedy

Looking at what is happening today, I don’t believe I need to write additional commentary.

Happy to read you are feeling up to blogging again.

This same refrain has been shouted and written and whispered and cried by wise men thru out the ages, and yet here we are on the brink of tossing everything on the shoulders of our government. We elected the people who are willing to take care of all the paper work for us. Which of course all of this means our posterity will soundly 'bless' us for our forethought since we who are yelling for help are not about to pay the bill. BB

First, Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Ticker. May God continue to rest his loving hand upon you.

You may be interested in Hoosier Army Mom's post today. Axis of idiots, indeed. Meanwhile, now that gasoline prices have dropped to below $1.90 a gallon, Congress intends to tack on an additional 40-cents per gallon in taxes.

Yes sir . . . hope and change.

Mustang, that's a good site, thanks for the link.

What else did you expect from the Pelosi loonies. She has been screaming for a tax increase on gas and oil for two years now. And then she has the guts to preach to the oil companies about profit. Wonder what she calls the taxes that go for nothing more than vote buying schemes? We stand at $1.59 at most places around town and some lower even with the forthcoming holiday. I bet Pelosi will also claim that this will help the middle class and the poor. You know the ones who go to work each day. But then we know the only poor her crowd wants to help is the non-working poor. Wonder if she plans on giving them gas credit vouchers while the rest of us have to get by on what we can actually earn each day?

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving and are doing better!

It's amazing to listen to some of JFK's old speeches...he sounds like one of us!

Edge you are right. Unfortunately today JFK would be rejected by his own party and condemned by the religious right because of his faith.

Should we be afraid of our government when it is led by Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and Chuck Schumner, just to name a few....... Yikes! Never mind.

But, to be honest and non-partisan, who is there in the Republican party, in Washington, that we can believe in either? No, the hopes of the Repubs lies in the ranks of the governors. Once any conservatives get to Washington, they are corrupted.
