Sunday Music Time

l

He took my place by Charley Pride

Indeed he took my place when I deserved nothing.  The pain and suffering He endured for someone such as I is unimaginable.  How could anyone not understand all that He gave up just so He could take our place and not want to accept the gift so freely given.

I hope that you will enjoy the song on today's Sunday Music Time but I also hope that you will understand and consider the message that is presented.

Thanks Fred G. - Although The Old Rugged Cross is surely the Best of the Cross Hymns - I really like Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone - especially the line:

no there's a Cross for Everyone and there's a Cross for ME

really nice, Ticker, thanks for that.
I hope you come weigh in on my faith blog today; It's a horrid witness I've got going there to secularists to uncharacteristically have only 2 Christians responding about answered prayer and one's ME! (HA!)

Speaking of the cross we seem to remember what Jesus did on the cross but we forget that he told us to "take up the cross and follow him..."

We seem to want the benefits he provided on the cross but don't want to bear the cross as he ask.
He gave up everything for us and ask so little of us.

Mark 10:20-22(NKJV)

20 And he answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.”
21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”
22 But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
