Silly Song Saturday
Who Put The Bomp - Barry Mann
Is this perhaps one of the songs that maybe you don't want to know the answer to?
This was a big hit in 1961! Where were you and what were you doing?
They sure don't write lyrics like this anymore, WOW!
Dang Fred. I wasn't even born yet hahah. But yes I remember since it was played well into my grade school years. hahaha Now what were you doing in 61? hahah
That was the year we drove down to San Antonio to see my dad off to Vietnam. Little did we realize then, that a few Military advisors, selected by Kennedy not long after he was inaugurated would lead to such international turmoil, and a huge surge in lefties dedicated to tearing this country apart.
GM, it was indeed the beginning of a very long road--1961. I was a Sr. in high school(Class of 62) but a few short years later I would be making that same trip as your Dad.
On any given Saturday night in 1961, I was working at the WJCW tower of power (chuckle, chuckle) that the 1,000 watts at night could be heard from Jonesboro to Boones Creek, playing what became old goldiees. I believe I still have that 45 along with a couple hundred other 45's. I was playing this stuff so you guys could make out in the back seat of your dad's Chevy. You were having fun and I was working.
Hey I remember those days. You were at the BarBQ King on the Kpt/Bristol Blvd, or at least I think that is what was called. Make an order and make a request and JP (in those days) the DJ would play your request. I must have spent a small fortune making request for the "love of my life" so she would make out like a lil mink later on. I want my money back, it didn't work too well.
Oh PJ, I forgot to mention that your working was a "chick magnet" job. You made out like a dang bandit boy and don't deny it. LOL I remember when and who. hahhahahaa.

Amazing. Not a single word or phrase about killing cops or white people. How did we ever survive?

Dang Mustang, how did we manage?
