Sunday Music Time

l

For those of you who enjoy a touch of Bluegrass you will enjoy this song. For those of you who enjoy Vince Gill you will deeply enjoy this song. If  you enjoy both then you will love this song.

Vince Gill began his career with his roots in Bluegrass music. He expanded into Country and even flowed over into the Pop arena but he never lost the love for his Blue Grass roots.

Vince Gill began writing the song following the death of country music superstar Keith Whitley, who died in 1989. Gill did not finish the song until a few years later following the death of his older brother Bob, in 1993, of a heart attack.
"I wrote this song, and I didn't have any idea if anybody would want to hear it, or like it. All I wanted to do was grieve for him and celebrate his life. That's how I always process grief—sit down with a guitar and make something up. Turns out that if anybody remembers any of my songs, it'll be this one."

Thousands of people have used this song to help them through their grief over the loss of a family member or beloved friend. I count myself among that number.

If you have faced or are facing that type of grief, take a listen to the words of the song and if a tear falls from your eyes, don't hold back. Let them flow for tears are the waters that help to cleanse and heal the grieving body, mind and soul.

I hope you will be blessed by Vince Gill's rendition of Go Rest High On That Mountain.

Outstanding Fred. I considered this one but was afraid that too many people would not be familiar with the group. I will use it soon.
The Best of the Primitives is a great example of Acappella singing that was so prevalent in the mountains where I grew up. I remember several churches that did not have piano's and wow the music was terrific. They did what was known as "shaped note" singing. It is an art that is fast dying.

Ticker - I like this song because it makes me feel good deep down inside.

I especially like the setting - the cabin with the blues and purples - and also Vince Gill. And yes, the touch of Bluegrass. :-)

Thanks, Ticker.

Ticker, I love Vince Gill and wonder that Amy Grant doesn't wop him up one side of the head for not having her sing harmony with him :-) If he were my husband, I'd be singing with him! (I'll bet they do at home!)
love the touch of bluegrass...
Wish you could have heard our praise band today :-)

Z, cause Amy can't do Bluegrass for one thing. I don't think she has ever performed with a bluegrass group or person such as Ricky Scaggs or any of the older bluegrass folk.

Sue, nothing to comment on actually. I had said all that needed to be said on selling your house. It's sold! That's good if that is what you want.

Ticker - It's not what I want.

But others want it and it is easier for me to give others what they want then to have others unhappy if they don't get what they want.

I can be happy being unhappy, but not happy if other are unhappy.

Do you think I give folks what they want Sue? Certainly not. Many leftwing commenters have come and gone. The have gone because they have no argument, no fact with which to refute what I write. Ducky use to come around until I reminded him of who's house he was in and if he didn't have anything to add to the conversation leave. He did. Oh he reads me regularly. LOL I can tell by my widgit.
